The S.H. Ho College is one of the constituent colleges of the Chinese University of Hong Kong,a public university in New Territories,Hong Kong. The college started to admit its first class of students in 2010. [1] It is named after Ho Sin Hang,a Hong Kong businessman who founded Hang Seng Bank. [2]
In August 2006,Professor Samuel Sun,a professor of biology in CUHK,was appointed Founding Master of S.H. Ho College. [3]
The motto of the college is "Culture,Morals,Devotion,Trustworthiness".
It is located in between the central campus and the existing Chung Chi College,and is next to another new college,Morningside College.
The S.H. Ho College,along with the Morningside College and the CW Chu College,are the first colleges in The Chinese University of Hong Kong operating on a fully residential and communal dining basis. All undergraduates belonging to S.H. Ho College are required to take up residency in the hostels of the college,and attend communal dinners three times a week.
With a resident population of 600 students,S.H. Ho College is the largest of the three colleges adopting this system.

Rocky Tuan Sung-chi is a Hong Kong medical researcher and bioengineer,currently the vice-chancellor and president of the Chinese University of Hong Kong,where he served as distinguished visiting professor and director of the Institute for Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine prior to taking up the vice-chancellorship. Previously he was on the faculty at the University of Pittsburgh,where he held a number of roles:Arthur J. Rooney Sr. Professor of Sports Medicine and the executive vice chair of the department of Orthopaedic Surgery,and a professor in the department of bioengineering. He was the director of the Center for Military Medicine Research and an associate director of the McGowan Institute for Regenerative Medicine. Despite his position in Hong Kong,he continues to serve as the director of the University of Pittsburgh's Center for Cellular and Molecular Engineering. For the 2018 fiscal year,he was one of the top 25 highest-paid University of Pittsburgh employees.
In September 2017,tensions arose between different parties over the content of posters put up on Democracy wall in the Chinese University of Hong Kong. This has led to increased tensions in Hong Kong society,due to the interpretations of freedom of speech of certain content of the posters. This has also led to copycats incidents occurring in other universities in Hong Kong as well reigniting Hong Kong Independence debate within Hong Kong Kong society. The standoff,which has manifested in a series of protests and counterprotests on campuses,is reflective of the wider disconnect between mainlanders and Hongkongers,fanned by a host of reasons from politics and language barriers to state-fuelled propaganda and competition for scarce resources.
Professor Simon Ho Shun-man is the current President of Hang Seng University of Hong Kong. Under his presidency,Hang Seng Management College gained university title as The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong on 30 October 2018,becoming the second private university in Hong Kong.
Rowena He or He Xiaoqing is a China specialist and historian of modern Chinese society and politics. The Wall Street Journal called her as a "lead scholar on the Tiananmen Movement." Her first book,Tiananmen Exiles:Voices of the Struggles for Democracy in China was named Top Five Books 2014 by the Asia Society’s China File. The book has been reviewed in the New York Review of Books,Wall Street Journal,Financial Times,New Statesman,Spectator,Christian Science Monitor,China Journal,Human Rights Quarterly,and other international periodicals. Her research has been supported by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada,Harvard’s Fairbank Center for Chinese Studies,the Institute for Advanced Study at Princeton,the National Humanities Center,and the Civitas Institute at the University of Texas Austin.
Janny May-yee Leung is a Chinese operations researcher and academic administrator,the master of Choi Kai Yau College at the University of Macau and courtesy professor in the State Key Laboratory of Internet of Things for Smart City of the University of Macau. Topics in her research have included transportation scheduling,logistics,facility location,and polyhedral combinatorics.
