New Asia College is a constituent college of the Chinese University of Hong Kong,a public university in New Territories,Hong Kong.
The college locates on a mount in the university with an excellent view to Tide Cove and Ma On Shan. A circular road New Asia Circle (新亞坊) encircles the campus with New Asia Road (新亞路) leading to the central of the university,and United Road to United College,and Cheng Ming Link (誠明徑) to student residences.
New Asia College was founded in 1949 by Chinese scholars Ch'ien Mu (Qian Mu),Tang Junyi (Tang Chun-i),and Zhang Pijie (Tchang Pi-kai),in Hong Kong,then a British dependency,after the Communist victory in mainland China. [1]
In 1963,the college joined forces with United College and Chung Chi College to form the Chinese University of Hong Kong under a charter granted by the Legislative Council of Hong Kong. The college has since then become a research and educational hub for Confucian philosophy and Chinese studies. [1]

The Grand Bauhinia Medal is the highest award under the Hong Kong honours and awards system;it is to recognise the selected person's lifelong and highly significant contribution to the well-being of Hong Kong. The awardee is entitled to the postnominal letters GBM and the style The Honourable. The award was created in 1997 to replace the British honours system,following the transfer of sovereignty to the People's Republic of China and the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. The list was empty because no one was awarded from 2003 to 2004. Bauhinia,Bauhinia blakeana,is the floral emblem of Hong Kong.
The Silver Bauhinia Star is the second rank of the Order of the Bauhinia Star under the honours system of Hong Kong,awarded to people who have taken a leading part in public affairs or voluntary work over a long period. New Asia Middle School,abbreviated as NAMS,is an aided secondary school in Hong Kong. Founded in 1973 by Ch'ien Mu as a non-profit-making Chinese secondary school,the school sits on the former campus of New Asia College –on Farm Road,Kau Pui Lung,Kowloon –after the college became a member of The Chinese University of Hong Kong and moved to Ma Liu Shui in Sha Tin.
