Samuel Joel Telfer is an Australian politician. He has been a Liberal member of the South Australian House of Assembly since the 2022 state election,representing Electoral district of Flinders. Before entering parliament,he served as mayor of Tumby Bay District Council and president of the Eyre Peninsula Local Government Association. [1]
Flinders Chase National Park is a protected area in the Australian state of South Australia located at the west end of Kangaroo Island about 177 kilometres west-south west of the state capital of Adelaide and 110 kilometres west of the municipal seat of Kingscote. It is a sanctuary for endangered species and home to a few geological phenomena. It was the second national park to be declared in South Australia.

The Flinders Highway is a highway that crosses Queensland east to west,from Townsville on the Pacific coast to Cloncurry. The road continues as the Barkly Highway from Cloncurry to the Northern Territory border at Camooweal and beyond. The Flinders Highway passes a number of small outback towns and typical outback landscape predominates towards the inland. It was known as National Route 78 before Queensland began to convert to the alphanumeric system being adopted in Australia and is now designated as A6. The highway is also known as Overlanders Way. Its entire length is part of the National Land Transport Network.
Flinders Ranges Council is a local government area (LGA) located in the Flinders Ranges of South Australia.
The Mid North is a region of South Australia,north of the Adelaide Plains,but not as far north as the Far North,or the outback. It is generally accepted to extend from Spencer Gulf east to the Barrier Highway,including the coastal plain,the southern part of the Flinders Ranges,and the northern part of the Mount Lofty Ranges. The area was settled as early as 1840 and provided early farming and mining outputs for the fledgling colony. Farming is still significant in the area,particularly wheat,sheep and grapevines. There are not currently any significant mining activities in the Mid North but interest has been shown in iron ore mining by Australian Tailings Group in the area of Olary Creek.
Dean Harold Jaensch was an Australian political scientist and a Professor of Political and International Studies at The Flinders University of South Australia. Jaensch was awarded a Bachelor of Arts (Honours),a Master of Arts and PhD from the University of Adelaide. He wrote many highly regarded books (14) on political parties,electoral politics and voting behaviour in Australian politics,and also focussed on South Australian and Northern Territory politics,federalism within the Anglosphere and empirical methodology.
Flinders is a single-member electoral district for the South Australian House of Assembly. It is named after explorer Matthew Flinders,who was responsible for charting most of the state's coastline. It is a 58,901 km²coastal rural electorate encompassing the Eyre Peninsula and the coast along the Nullarbor Plain,based in and around the city of Port Lincoln and contains the District Councils of Ceduna,Cleve,Elliston,Lower Eyre Peninsula,Streaky Bay and Wudinna;as well as the localities of Fowlers Bay,Nullarbor and Yalata in the Pastoral Unincorporated Area. The seat was expanded in 2002 to include a western strip of land all the way to the Western Australia border.
Captain Matthew Flinders was a British navigator and cartographer who led the first inshore circumnavigation of mainland Australia,then called New Holland. He is also credited as being the first person to utilise the name Australia to describe the entirety of that continent including Van Diemen's Land,a title he regarded as being "more agreeable to the ear" than previous names such as Terra Australis.

Telowie Gorge Conservation Park,formerly Telowie Gorge National Park,was a protected area located in the Australian state of South Australia to the east of the town of Port Germein in the gazetted locality of Telowie. It became part of the Wapma Thura–Southern Flinders Ranges National Park on 25 November 2021.

Richmond–Croydon Road is a continuous 360 kilometres (220 mi) road route in the Richmond,Croydon and Etheridge local government areas of Queensland,Australia. It is part of the shortest route from the Croydon / Georgetown area to Winton and Longreach. It is also part of the inland freight network linking cattle properties to major freight routes on the Landsborough and Flinders highways.
