The state election for the 51st Parliament of South Australia was held in the Australian state of South Australia on 18 March 2006 to elect all members of the South Australian House of Assembly and 11 members of the South Australian Legislative Council. The election was conducted by the independent State Electoral Office.

He was the 12th Deputy Premier of South Australia from 2011 to 2018 and 48th Attorney-General of South Australia from 2010 to 2018 for the South Australian Branch of the Australian Labor Party in the Weatherill cabinet. Rau was the Labor member of the House of Assembly seat of Enfield from the 2002 election until announcing his intention to retire from Parliament on 10 December 2018, and submitting his resignation on 17 December 2018.

Clancy was the unsuccessful Labor candidate for the federal division of Boothby in the 2019 Australian federal election and is a member of Labor's left faction.

With a swing of 3.5 per cent, she defeated the incumbent Liberal Party member, Paula Luethen, who had held the seat since 2018 and had a slim pre-election margin of 0.6 per cent.
Erin Louise Thompson is an Australian politician. She has been a Labor Party member of the South Australian House of Assembly since the 2022 state election, representing Davenport. With a swing of 11.6 per cent, she defeated the Liberal Party member, Steve Murray, who had held the seat since 2018. Until the 2022 state election, Davenport had been held exclusively by Liberal Party members since its creation prior to the 1970 election. According to ABC election analyst Antony Green, prior to the 2022 election the frequent redistributions had little impact on the Liberal margin in Davenport, but there had been a slow narrowing between the Davenport results and the state-wide Liberal two-party-preferred vote.
A by-election for the seat of Bragg in the South Australian House of Assembly was held on 2 July 2022. The by-election was triggered by the parliamentary resignation of Liberal Party MP and former Deputy Premier Vickie Chapman on 31 May 2022. Jack Batty retained the seat for the Liberal Party, despite a modest swing being recorded against the party.
