The Santa Barbara shelled slug or slug snail, scientific name Binneya notabilis, is a species of air-breathing land slug, a shell-less terrestrial gastropod mollusk in the family Binneyidae.
This species is found only in the United States.
The gastropods, commonly known as snails and slugs, belong to a large taxonomic class of invertebrates within the phylum Mollusca called Gastropoda.
Sea slug is a common name for some marine invertebrates with varying levels of resemblance to terrestrial slugs. Most creatures known as sea slugs are actually gastropods, i.e. they are sea snails that over evolutionary time have either completely lost their shells, or have seemingly lost their shells due to having a greatly reduced or internal shell. The name "sea slug" is most often applied to nudibranchs, as well as to a paraphyletic set of other marine gastropods without obvious shells.
Limax maximus, known by the common names great grey slug and leopard slug, is a species of slug in the family Limacidae, the keeled slugs. It is among the largest keeled slugs, Limax cinereoniger being the largest.
The shelled slug, scientific name Testacella haliotidea, is a rarely seen, air-breathing, carnivorous land slug, a terrestrial gastropod mollusk in the family Testacellidae, the shelled slugs.
Malacolimax tenellus is a species of air-breathing land slug, a shell-less terrestrial gastropod mollusk in the family Limacidae.
Eucobresia diaphana is a species of small air-breathing land snail or semi-slug in the terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusk family Vitrinidae.
Arion vejdorskyi or Arion vejdowskyi is a taxon with unclear taxonomic position and probably a synonym for other species. It was described as a species of air-breathing land slug, a shell-less terrestrial gastropod mollusk in the family Arionidae, the roundback slugs.
Binneya is a genus of air-breathing land slugs, shell-less terrestrial gastropod mollusks in the family Binneyidae.
The black-chinned mountain tanager is a species of bird in the family Thraupidae. It is found in Colombia and Ecuador. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist montane forests.
The black-necklaced honeyeater or black-chested honeyeater is a species of bird in the family Meliphagidae. It is endemic to Wetar.
The white-bellied honeyeater, also known as the New Hebrides honeyeater, is a species of bird in the family Meliphagidae. It is endemic to the Melanesian island nation of Vanuatu.
Helicarion australis is a species of air-breathing land snail or semi-slug, terrestrial pulmonate gastropod molluscs in the family Helicarionidae. This species is endemic to Australia.
Parmacella tenerifensis is a species of air-breathing land slug, a shell-less terrestrial gastropod mollusk in the family Parmacellidae.
Victaphanta compacta, common name the Otway black snail, is a species of carnivorous air-breathing land snail, a terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusks in the family Rhytididae. The Otway Black Snail Victaphanta compacta is only found in cool temperate rainforests in the Otway Ranges, Victoria, Australia. It is one of four species of the carnivorous land snails in the genus Victaphanta and is endemic to the Otway Ranges.
Acroloxus lacustris, or the lake limpet, is a small freshwater limpet or snail, a species of aquatic gastropod mollusk in the family Acroloxidae.
Slug, or land slug, is a common name for any apparently shell-less terrestrial gastropod mollusc. The word slug is also often used as part of the common name of any gastropod mollusc that has no shell, a very reduced shell, or only a small internal shell, particularly sea slugs and semislugs.
Binneyidae is a family of air-breathing land slugs, terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusks in the superfamily Arionoidea.
Mysticarion porrectus, also known as Helicarion porrectus, is a tree-dwelling snail in the family Helicarionidae. It is endemic to Australia. This species occurs in and near rainforests at high altitude in eastern Australia. It is associated with Gondwana cool temperate rainforests, with trees such as Antarctic Beech, Sassafras and Pinkwood.
Semilabeo notabilis is a species of cyprinid fish found in rivers and streams in China and Vietnam.
