Sayed Shirzad (born 1 October 1994) is an Afghan cricketer. Shirzad is a right-handed batsman who bowls left-arm at a medium pace.

Domestic career

Shirzad represented Afghanistan Under-19s in the 2011 Under-19 World Cup Qualifier in Ireland. [1] He made his Twenty20 debut for the Afghan Cheetahs in the Faysal Bank Twenty-20 Cup against Rawalpindi Rams. [2] He bowled two wicket-less overs in the match, and was not required to bat. [3]

He made his List A debut for Boost Region in the 2018 Ghazi Amanullah Khan Regional One Day Tournament on 11 July 2018. [4] He was the leading wicket-taker for Boost Region during the tournament, with twelve dismissals in six matches. [5]

T20 franchise career

In September 2018, he was named in Kandahar's squad in the first edition of the Afghanistan Premier League tournament. [6] He was the leading wicket-taker for the Kandahar Knights in the tournament, with sixteen dismissals in eight matches. [7]

International career

He made his Twenty20 International debut against Oman on 29 November 2015. [8]

In May 2018, he was named in Afghanistan's squad for their inaugural Test match, played against India, but he was not selected for the match. [9] [10]

In July 2018, he was named in Afghanistan's One Day International (ODI) squad for their series against Ireland, but he did not play. [11] In September 2018, he was named in Afghanistan's ODI squad for the 2018 Asia Cup, but he did not play. [12]

In February 2019, he was named in Afghanistan's One Day International (ODI) squad for their series against Ireland in India. [13] [14] He made his ODI debut against Ireland on 2 March 2019. [15] Following the conclusion of the ODI series, he was added to Afghanistan's Test squad, for the one-off match against Ireland, but he did not play. [16]

On 27 June 2019, Sayed was added to Afghanistan's squad for the 2019 Cricket World Cup, replacing Aftab Alam, who was ruled out of the tournament due to "exceptional circumstances". [17] In August 2019, he was named in Afghanistan's Test squad for their one-off match against Bangladesh, but he did not play. [18] [19] In February 2021, he was named in Afghanistan's Test squad for their series against Zimbabwe. [20] He made his Test debut for Afghanistan, against Zimbabwe, on 10 March 2021. [21]

Ihsanullah is an Afghan cricketer who plays as a right-handed opening batsman. He made his first-class debut for Afghanistan against the Netherlands in the 2015–17 ICC Intercontinental Cup on 29 July 2016. Prior to his first-class debut, he captained the Afghanistan U-19 team in the 2016 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. He made his Test cricket debut in March 2019. Ihsanullah is the younger brother of former Afghanistan captain Nawroz Mangal.

Karim Janat is an Afghan cricketer. He made his first-class debut against the England Lions on 7 December 2016. Prior to his first-class debut, he was part of Afghanistan's squad for the 2016 Under-19 Cricket World Cup.

Shahidullah is an Afghan cricketer. He made his List A debut for Afghanistan A against Zimbabwe A during their tour to Zimbabwe on 27 January 2017. He was named in Afghanistan's squad for the 2014 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. He made his international debut for the Afghanistan cricket team in March 2021, in a Test match against Zimbabwe.

Yousuf Zazai is an Afghan cricketer. He made his List A debut for Band-e-Amir Region in the 2017 Ghazi Amanullah Khan Regional One Day Tournament on 10 August 2017. He made his Twenty20 debut for Amo Sharks in the 2017 Shpageeza Cricket League on 14 September 2017.

Mujeeb Ur Rahman Zadran is an Afghan cricketer, who plays for the Afghanistan national cricket team. Two months after his international debut, at the age of 16 years and 325 days, he became the youngest player to take a five-wicket haul in a One Day International. He was one of the eleven cricketers to play in Afghanistan's first Test match, against India, in June 2018. Afghanistan lost the one-sided Test within two days. Mujeeb scored 15 and 3 in the two innings, respectively, and got one wicket after conceding 75 runs. It was also Mujeeb's first-class cricket debut. His uncle, Noor Ali Zadran, is also an Afghan international cricketer.
