Wezo Mbeli, the national scouting organization of the Comoros, was founded in 1975, and became a member of the World Organization of the Scout Movement in 1990. The coeducational Wezombeli has 1,725 members as of 2004. The development of Scouting has been hampered by civil unrest and lack of political stability in the country.
The Fédération Gabonaise du Scoutisme, the national federation of several Scouting organizations of Gabon, was founded under French Equatorial Africa in 1936, although Scouting appeared years before brought by colonists, and became a member of the World Organization of the Scout Movement in 1971. The coeducational Fédération Gabonaise du Scoutisme has 3,809 members as of 2008.
The Scout and Guide movement in Denmark consists of about ten different associations. Most of them are members of two large federations, but there are also some independent organizations. Affiliated to Danish Scouting and Guiding are the organizations in Greenland, on the Faroe Islands and in Southern Schleswig.
