Sergey Nikolayev (Russian : Сергей Николаев; born 12 November 1966) is a Russian former track and field athlete who competed in the shot put. He set a personal best of 21.35 m (70 ft 1⁄2 in) in 1989. He represented the Soviet Union at the 1991 World Championships in Athletics, placing fifth, and was a two-time participant at the European Athletics Championships, in 1990 and 1994. His highest world seasonal ranking – sixth – came in 1989.
Nikolayev was a silver medallist at the 1992 IAAF World Cup. [1] He was also a bronze medallist on home turf at the 1994 Goodwill Games, taking third behind Americans C. J. Hunter and Randy Barnes. [2]
He was twice national champion at the Russian Athletics Championships, winning the shot put in 1994 and 1998. [3] He competed as a guest at the Japan Championships in Athletics in 1990 and won in a meet record of 19.02 m (62 ft 4+3⁄4 in). [4]

Manuel "Manolo" Martínez Gutiérrez is a retired Spanish shot putter. Nicknamed the "Gentle Giant", his personal best throw outdoors is 21.47 metres and he has an indoor best of 21.26 m. These marks are the Spanish national records for the event. His international career lasted from 1992 to 2011 and he earned national selection on 84 occasions – the most by any Spanish athlete.
Mykola Musiyenko is a Ukrainian former triple jumper who represented the Soviet Union and later Ukraine. He won four medals for the Soviet Union at the European Indoor Championships, being the champion in both 1983 and 1989. He competed at the 1989 IAAF World Indoor Championships, but failed to record a valid mark in the final. He was also a finalist at the 1986 European Athletics Championships. He was a bronze medallist at the 1986 Goodwill Games, held on home soil in Moscow.
Duan Qifeng is a Chinese male former track and field athlete who specialized in the triple jump. He set a lifetime best of 17.05 m in 1998, which ranked him 20th in the world that year.
Maho Hanaoka is a Japanese former track and field athlete who competed mainly in the long jump and triple jump. She is one of Japan's best female athletes in the horizontal jumps: she holds the Japanese records for the triple jump outdoors with 14.04 m and is also the record holder in both the long and triple jump indoors. Anna Mikhaylovna Knoroz is a retired Russian hurdler who specialised in the 400 metres hurdles. She won a bronze medal in the 400 m hurdles at the 1994 European Championships, and a gold medal in the 4 × 400 metres relay at the 1991 World Championships. She also competed at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.
Liu Hao is a Chinese former track and field athlete who competed in the men's shot put. His personal best for the event is 19.72 m, set in 1993.
Klaus Bodenmüller is an Austrian former track and field athlete who competed in the shot put. He is Austria's best ever performer in the event and holds the Austrian records at 20.79 m outdoors and 21.03 m indoors.
Matthew Simson is a male British former shot putter. He was the gold medallist in the event at the 1994 Commonwealth Games, which he won with his career best throw of 19.49 m.
Simon Alexander Williams is a male British former shot putter and discus thrower. He was the gold medallist in the shot put at the 1990 Commonwealth Games. He also represented Great Britain in the discus at the 1991 World Championships in Athletics and the 1992 Summer Olympics.
Lyubov Kremlyova is a Russian former middle- and long-distance runner who competed internationally both for the Soviet Union and Russia. She had her greatest success indoors, winning medals at the 1991 IAAF World Indoor Championships and 1992 European Athletics Indoor Championships. John Barry Nuttall is a male British former long-distance runner who competed in track and cross country running. He competed for Great Britain at the 1996 Summer Olympics. Sergey Gavryushin is a former track and field athlete for the Soviet Union who competed in the shot put. His greatest achievement was a throw of 22.10 m in the 1986 season. This ranked him only fifth for the year but placed him in the all-time top ten for the event. This mark continues to rank highly and places Gavryushin within the all-time top 20 athletes, as of 2016. He also ranked seventh and sixth in the global seasonal lists for 1987 and 1988, respectively.

Marina Antonyuk is a Russian former track and field athlete who competed in the shot put. She set a personal best of 20.60 m in 1986. She represented the Soviet Union at the 1991 World Championships in Athletics, finishing seventh, and at the 1990 European Athletics Championships, coming eighth. She was a silver medallist at the 1992 IAAF World Cup behind Cuba's Belsis Laza.

Andrea Müller is a German female former track and field athlete who competed in the pole vault. She was active during the early stages of the formal acceptance of women's pole vault into international programmes by the International Association of Athletics Federations. She briefly held the world record for the event, with a clearance of 4.18 m in August 1995. The former holder, Daniela Bártová, improved upon that the same month.
Brian Brown is an American male former track and field athlete who competed in the high jump. His career best was 2.34 m, set in 1990. He was the national champion at the USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in 1989 and won the NCAA Indoor Division I title in 1990.
