Servicios Aerolineas Mexicanas, also known as SAM was a Mexican airline that operated between 1992 and 1995. [3] It was part of the first wave of newly formed airlines following the Mexican airline deregulation of 1989. [4] At its height in 1994, [5] it operated a fleet of 3 Douglas DC-9-10 and 1 Boeing 737-200 aircraft. [6] Severely affected by the Mexican peso crisis, SAM ceased all operations in April 1995. [7]

The airline joined the SkyTeam alliance in August 2012; the airline's cargo division became a member of SkyTeam Cargo in November 2013.

Cielos del Sur S.A., operating as Austral Líneas Aéreas, more commonly known by its shortened name Austral, was a domestic airline of Argentina, the sister company of Aerolíneas Argentinas. It was the second-largest domestic scheduled airline in the country, after Aerolíneas Argentinas. As a subsidiary of Aerolíneas Argentinas, the company shared its headquarters with that airline, which is located in the Aeroparque Jorge Newbery of Buenos Aires, the main base of operations of the company.

Avianca Costa Rica S.A., using callsign as LACSA, minority owned by the Synergy Group, is the national airline of Costa Rica and is based in San José. It operates international scheduled services to over 35 destinations in Central, North and South America. The airline previously used the TACA/LACSA moniker when it was a subsidiary of Grupo TACA. Since May 2013, following Avianca's purchase of Grupo TACA, Avianca Costa Rica became one of seven nationally branded airlines operated by Avianca Group of Latin American airlines.

Compañía Boliviana de Transporte Aéreo Privado Aerosur, S.A. was a privately owned airline from Bolivia, which served as the country's flag carrier since 1998, along with state-owned Boliviana de Aviación. Headquartered in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, it operated a network of domestic and international scheduled passenger flights with its hub at the city's Viru Viru International Airport. As of 2010, the airline had 1200 employees.

The company was named Azul after a naming contest in 2008, where "Samba" was the other popular name. Azul is a publicly traded company on the Brazilian stock exchange, with the ticker AZUL4. Servicios Aéreos Rutas Oriente, S.A. de C.V. was an airline based in Monterrey, Mexico. The airline was established in 1991 and had its first flight on March 18 of that year. Due to their low prices, SARO was one of the first low-cost airlines in Mexico and America. It operated scheduled and charter flights throughout the Mexican Republic. SARO ceased all operations in 1995.

Mexicana de Aviación is a state owned and low-cost airline established on 15 June 2023, and is operating under the commercial name Mexicana de Aviación after the Mexican government finalized the transfer of rights of the airline's brands and assets on 9 August 2023.
