The Cameron Highlands is a district in Pahang, Malaysia, occupying an area of 712.18 square kilometres (274.97 sq mi). To the north, its boundary touches that of Kelantan; to the west, it shares part of its border with Perak. Situated at the northwestern tip of Pahang, the "Camerons" is approximately 90 kilometres (56 mi) from Ipoh, roughly 200 kilometres (120 mi) from Kuala Lumpur or about 355 kilometres (221 mi) from Kuantan, the capital of Pahang. It is the smallest municipality in the state.
Tanah Rata is a town located in Cameron Highlands, Pahang, Malaysia. The name "tanah rata" means flat ground in Malay and it refers to the relatively flat area on which the town is located amidst this highland region. It has an elevation of 1,440 metres (4,720 ft).

Tringkap is a small town in Cameron Highlands, Pahang, Malaysia. It is also known as 'Dai Gong Si'. It located 8 km from Brinchang and just beside the famous tea plantation, the Sungai Palas BOH Tea Plantation. Among the famous spots are rose valley, bees farms, vegetable farms and various stalls selling fresh vegetables, flowers, kinds of honey, strawberry and other local produces.

The Federal Route 102, also known as Pos Betau–Lembah Bertam Road, is a 79.1-kilometre (49.2 mi) federal highway in Pahang, Malaysia. It is built as the third access road to the district of Cameron Highlands, Pahang after the Federal Route 59 and 185. The completion of the highway makes it possible for Pahangite motorists to visit Cameron Highlands without leaving the state of Pahang. And this road has no petrol station at the entire journey, motorists are required to fill up at Sungai Koyan before continuing their journey through this road.
The 2014 Cameron Highlands mud floods took place in Cameron Highlands, Pahang, Malaysia on 5 and 6 November 2014. More than 20 houses in Ringlet town, Ringlet new village, Kampung Ulu Merah Ringlet and Bertam Valley are submerged in knee-deep flood waters. At least three people were killed while other five injured according to official reports. Electricity supply to the affected villages was inevitably cut off for several weeks. About 90 victims from 28 families were evacuated to relief centre in Ringlet. This was the second time that mud floods of this magnitude had ravaged the Bertam Valley since the 2013 mud floods. The mud floods had been largely attributed to illegal land clearing by foreign illegal immigrants who were involved in the rapidly expanding agricultural industry there. Pahang Sultan Ahmad Shah has orders to stop the illegal farming and there is a claimed of corruption involving the illegal land clearing.
