The Seychelles national U-17 football team is the representative of Seychelles within all international tournaments that pertain to that age level. It is controlled and administered by the Seychelles Football Federation.

History

The Seychelles national U-17 football team won the 1995 Commission de la Jeunesse et des Sports de l’Océan Indien (CJSOI) competition in Madagascar. [1] They made their first Africa U-17 Cup of Nations appearance at the 2001 African U-17 Championship after they qualified as host. [2] They also made their debut COSAFA U-17 competition in 2016 in Mauritius following their 1-0 loss to South Africa. [3]

The Seychelles national football team, nicknamed the Pirates, represents Seychelles in international football and is controlled by the Seychelles Football Federation (SFF). SFF has been a member of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and FIFA since 1986. The team's home stadium is the 10,000-capacity Stade Linité located in Roche Caiman in the outskirts of Victoria, the capital of Seychelles.

The Réunion national football team is the regional team of the French overseas department and region of Réunion and is controlled by the Réunionese Football League, local branch of the French Football Federation. The Indian Ocean Games Triangulaire was a triangulaire, or tournament between three association football national teams, between Mauritius, Réunion, and Madagascar. It was the predecessor to the Indian Ocean Island Games. The triangulaire was held every year from 1947 until 1958, and then once more in 1963. In 1963, the last game, Mauritius vs Madagascar was abandoned in the 54th minute, which gave Madagascar the win that year. After that, Mauritius did not want to play Madagascar, and the tournament was not held. In the football portion, Mauritius participated along with Réunion, Seychelles, Comoros, and the Maldives. Madagascar did not join until the second Indian Ocean Island Games, which was in Mauritius in 1985. The three triangulaire teams have been to every Indian Ocean Island Games since.

Ralph Jean-Louis is a Seychellois football manager and former player. He manages the Seychelles men's national team. He also used to manage St Michel United, a team in the Seychelles First Division. As a player, he played eleven years for the Seychelles national team as a midfielder and striker. At club level, he played for Bel Air FC, Anse-aux-Pins FC and St Michel United. He won two bronze medals as a player at the Indian Ocean Island Games as well as a gold as a manager.

The 2007 Indian Ocean Island Games commonly known as Les septieme Jeux des iles de L'Ocean Indien in French was the 7th edition of the competition, held in Antananarivo, Madagascar. The last edition was held in 2003 in Mauritius. The next edition took place in Seychelles in 2011. It was the second time Madagascar organized these games after the 1990 Indian Ocean Islands Games. The Madagascar women's national football team is the FIFA recognised senior women's A team for Madagascar. The team played their first FIFA matches in 2015. They were runner-up to Réunion in the 2015 Indian Ocean Island Games. They have competed in the COSAFA Women's Championship, in which they won a game against Comoros in 2019.

The Réunion women's national football team is the regional football team of Réunion, a French island, and is not recognised by FIFA. They have played international matches against Egypt, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Uganda and Mauritius. There is a two-level women's league in the country, with promotion and relegation between each division.

The 2019–20 South-West Indian Ocean cyclone season was a slightly above-average season in tropical cyclone and subtropical cyclone formation west of 90°E. The season officially began on 15 November, however, the formation of the first system—Zone of Disturbed Weather 01—occurred on 22 July 2019, well before the official start of the season. This was the earliest start to a season since the 2016–17 season. The season then officially ended on 30 April 2020, with the exception of Mauritius and the Seychelles, for which it officially ended on 15 May 2020. These dates conventionally delimit the period of each year when most tropical and subtropical cyclones form in the basin, which is west of 90°E and south of the Equator. Tropical and subtropical cyclones in this basin are monitored by the Regional Specialized Meteorological Centre in Réunion.

The program focuses on the musical scene of several countries located in the Indian Ocean: Seychelles, Comoros, Madagascar, Mauritius, as well as the two French overseas departments of Mayotte and Réunion. The competition is organized by the Voix de l'océan Indien Association and Organizo productions. It takes place in Saint-Denis, Réunion.
