Shurestan (Persian : شورستان‎, also Romanized as Shūrestān and Shoorestan; also known as Sarāi Nau and Sarāy-e Now)^[1] is a village in Momenabad Rural District, in the Central District of Sarbisheh County, South Khorasan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 145, in 57 families.^[2]

Persian, also known by its endonym Farsi, is one of the Western Iranian languages within the Indo-Iranian branch of the Indo-European language family. It is primarily spoken in Iran, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and some other regions which historically were Persianate societies and considered part of Greater Iran. It is written right to left in the Persian alphabet, a modified variant of the Arabic script, which itself evolved from the Aramaic alphabet.

Momenabad Rural District is a rural district (dehestan) in the Central District of Sarbisheh County, South Khorasan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 9,997, in 2,592 families. The rural district has 98 villages.
