Coimbatore, Tamil pronunciation: [koːjambʊt̪ːuːɾ]), also known as Kovai or Covai, is one of the major metropolitan cities in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is located on the banks of the Noyyal River and surrounded by the Western Ghats.
