Sirkazhi is a state assembly constituency in Tamil Nadu. [2] [3] The constituency is reserved for Scheduled Caste (SC) candidates. It is one of the 234 State Legislative Assembly Constituencies in Tamil Nadu, in India.

Contents

[4] The assembly seat has been won by Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) in 1977, 1989, 1996 and 2006 elections and Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (ADMK) in 1980, 1984, 1991, 2001 and 2011. [5] As of 2021, the MLA of the constituency is M. Panneerselvam from the DMK.

M. Kannappan is an Indian politician and former Union minister for Non-conventional energy sources in A. B. Vajpayee's NDA rule between 1999 and 2004 Member of the Legislative Assembly of Tamil Nadu. He was elected to the Tamil Nadu legislative assembly as a Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate from Kinathukadavu constituency in 1967, and 1972 elections.

M. Panneerselvam is an Indian politician and former Member of the Legislative Assembly of Tamil Nadu. He was elected to the Tamil Nadu legislative assembly from Sirkazhi constituency as a Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) candidate in the 1989, 1996, and 2006 elections. He is the present MLA of Sirkazhi.He is an advocate.
