Sirumalaikottai is a village panchayat in Tamil Nadu, India. It is located in Ramanathapuram district, Thiruvadanai Taluk. [1] The nearest towns are Devakottai, Karaikudi, and Thiruvadanai.
The population of the village is 2500.[ citation needed ] The majority language is Tamil.
There are eight temples and 3 churches here. [2]
Karaikudi is the largest city in Sivaganga district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Karaikudi Municipal Corporation is the 21st largest urban agglomeration of Tamil Nadu based on 2011 census data. It is part of the area commonly referred to as "Chettinad" and has been declared a City Municipal Corporation by the Government of Tamil Nadu, on account of the palatial houses built with limestone called Kaarai veedu. For this reason, the place is sometimes called Kaarai Nagar locally. The extended urban limit spreads about 115 km2 (44 sq mi) which undergoes major developments as part of Government Schemes.

Chakrapani Chalise was a Nepalese poet. He wrote the words of the first national anthem of Nepal in 1924 AD to the music composed by Bakhat Bahadur Budhapirthi in 1899 AD. The musical part of anthem was created during Prime Minister Bir Shamsher Jang Bahadur Rana's era. Later the Nepali Language Publications Committee was ordered to write words for the anthem. Chakrapani being assistant to Superintendent of the Committee, wrote the words for the anthem.
