The smallscale yellowfish (Labeobarbus polylepis) is a South African species of freshwater fish in the cyprinid family. It is native to the Limpopo, Incomati and Pongolo drainages.
Labeobarbus alluaudi is a species of ray-finned fish in the family Cyprinidae. It has been found only in three rivers in Uganda. Some taxonomic authorities consider tis species to be a hybrid of Labeobarbus somereni and Labeobarbus ruwenzorii.

The supposed subspecies latirostris of its relative L. intermedius is actually misidentified L. johnstonii.
