<span class="mw-page-title-main">Trinamool Congress</span> National political party in India

The All India Trinamool Congress, colloquially the Trinamool Congress is an Indian political party which is predominantly active in West Bengal. The party is led by Mamata Banerjee, the current Chief Minister of West Bengal, who has led the state since 2011. It is currently the third largest party in Parliament with 23 members in Lok Sabha and 13 members in Rajya Sabha and 235 MLAs in State legislative assemblies of India, just after BJP and INC. In 2016 the Election Commission recognised TMC as a national political party.

Kolkata Dakshin Lok Sabha constituency is one of the 543 Lok Sabha (parliamentary) constituencies in India. The constituency centres on the southern part of Kolkata in West Bengal. While four of the seven legislative assembly segments on No. 23 Kolkata Dakshin Lok Sabha constituency are in Kolkata district, three are in South 24 Parganas district.

Suvendu Adhikari is an Indian politician from the Bharatiya Janata Party who is the current Leader of the Opposition in the West Bengal Legislative Assembly from 10 May 2021. He is a member of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly from Nandigram since May 2021 having defeated his opponent incumbent Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee by 1956 votes. A Legislative Assembly election was held in 2016 for the 294 seats of the Vidhan Sabha in the state of West Bengal in India. The All India Trinamool Congress under Mamata Banerjee won 211 seats, and thus was reelected with an enhanced majority. Like in the 2011 election, the poll was held in six phases, with the first phase divided into two days. The first phase was held in Naxalite-Maoist affected Red corridor areas with two polling dates: 4 April and 11 April. The other phases were held on 17, 21, 25, 30 April and 5 May. The result of the election was declared on 19 May.

Sonali Guha is an Indian politician from the state of West Bengal. Guha is a Bharatiya Janata Party politician. Sunil Singh is an Indian politician and a member of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly from Noapara in West Bengal, a seat which he won in February 2018 as an All India Trinamool Congress candidate. He was also the chairman of Garulia municipality till September 2019. He joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in June 2019. Singh left BJP by withdrawing from the municipal councillor candidature on 12 February 2022, after which he rejoined All India Trinamool Congress on 13 February 2022.

Tapas Banerjee is an Indian advocate and politician from West Bengal belonging to All India Trinamool Congress. He was a member of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly representing Asansol Dakshin from 2011 to 2021.
