Early life and education

Sonia Mann was born in Haldwani to Baldev Singh Mann and Paramjit Kaur. Her father was a left wing activist. He was killed by Khalistani militants in Amritsar in 1986. [1] She was brought up in Amritsar. [2] She completed her school life from Holy Heart Presidency School. Then she completed her college life from BBK DAV College for Women, Amritsar. [2]

Career

Mann appeared in many Punjabi music videos. [3] Her Malayalam film Hide n' Seek in 2012 was her film debut. [4] [5] Then, she appeared in another Malayalam film titled Teens which was released in 2013. [6] She also appeared in a Punjabi film titled Haani which was released in 2013. [2] [7] [8] Her Punjabi film Bade Changey Ne Mere Yaar Kaminey was released in 2014. [9] She also appeared in a Hindi film in that year titled Kahin Hai Mera Pyar . [10] [11] [12]

Mann's Telugu film Dhee Ante Dhee was released in 2015. [6] [13] Her Punjabi film 25 Kille was released in 2016. [9] [14] Another Punjabi film titled Motor Mitraan Di featuring her was also released in that year. [2] [15]

Mann did a cameo role on a Marathi film titled Hrudayantar in 2017. [16] [17] Her second Telugu film titled Dr. Chakravarthy was also released in that year. [18] [19] She was also a part of Hindi film Happy Hardy and Heer which was released on 31 January 2020. [20] [21]

Teraa Surroor is a 2016 Indian Hindi-language thriller film directed by Shawn Arranha and produced by Vipin Reshammiya and Sonia Kapoor. It is the sequel to the 2007 film Aap Kaa Surroor. The film was a joint production of T-Series and HR Musik Limited. The film stars Himesh Reshammiya and Farah Karimae in the lead roles. Naseeruddin Shah, Shekhar Kapur, Kabir Bedi, and Monica Dogra play the supporting roles. Teraa Surroor was released on 11 March 2016 in over 1000 cinemas all over India. The basic plot of the movie was based on the 2010 Hollywood film The Next Three Days which itself was a remake of the 2008 French movie Anything for Her.
