Sore Thumb is the fourth studio album by American rock band Oso Oso, released on March 18, 2022, through Triple Crown Records.
Sore Thumb was envisioned as a way to relieve the pressure of following up on its predecessor; to experiment and have fun without the prospect of it being released. [1] Lilitri spent a month recording with his cousin Tavish Maloney, and reunited with engineer Billy Mannino, whom he'd worked with on The Yunahon Mixtape (2017). Maloney died one month later, which led Lilitri to package the recordings as the next Oso Oso album, [2] as a tribute to his relative: [3] "“The making of this record is a now a memory of a time that I hold closer to my heart than anything," he said. [4]
The album was surprise released on March 18, 2022. [5]
Pitchfork awarded it its Best New Music tag, with reviewer Arielle Gordon calling it "adventurous": "Knowing that these songs were likely meant to be reworked before their release makes the record seem contoured by imperfections [...] Sore Thumb is Oso Oso when no one’s watching, still casually sincere and effortlessly earnest." [6] Stereogum columnist Chris DeVille viewed it among the best albums of its year, commenting: "[Sore Thumb is] another study in startlingly melodic aching splendor, stripped-down in feel yet loaded with dazzling lyrics and fascinating sounds." [7] Zach Schonfeld at Spin also ranked it among the year's best, writing, "Sore Thumb is considerably looser and more eclectic [than past efforts]." [8]

Last Splash is the second album by American alternative rock band the Breeders, released on August 30, 1993. Alejandra Ghersi Rodríguez, known professionally as Arca, is a Venezuelan musician and record producer based in Barcelona, Spain. She initially began releasing music under the name of Nuuro. After attending the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music, Ghersi first released the EP Baron Libre (2012) under the name Arca and subsequently released the EPs Stretch 1 and Stretch 2; the latter experimented with hip hop and brought her attention from prominent music publications.
Caroline Elizabeth Polachek is an American singer, producer, and songwriter. Raised in Connecticut, Polachek co-founded the indie pop band Chairlift while studying at the University of Colorado. The duo emerged from the late-2000s Brooklyn music scene with the sleeper hit "Bruises".
Alexander Guy Cook is an English music producer and the head of the UK record label PC Music. Cook released his first solo singles in 2014. He has also collaborated with PC Music artists such as Hannah Diamond, GFOTY, EASYFUN, Danny L Harle and felicita. He formed the one-off project QT with musician Sophie and performance artist Hayden Dunham, producing the 2014 single "Hey QT".
Steve Thomas Lacy-Moya is an American singer-songwriter, guitarist, and record producer. He gained recognition as the guitarist of the alternative R&B band the Internet. In 2017, he released his self-produced debut EP, Steve Lacy's Demo. Following this, Lacy was featured alongside Frank Ocean on the song "911 / Mr. Lonely" by Tyler, the Creator; and co-wrote songs for artists such as Solange Knowles, Chloe x Halle, and Kendrick Lamar, the latter of whom he worked with on the song "Pride.".

Japanese Breakfast is an American indie pop band headed by musician Michelle Zauner. Zauner started the band as a side project in 2013, when she was leading the Philadelphia-based emo group Little Big League. She has said that she named the band after seeing a GIF of Japanese breakfast and deciding that the term would be considered "exotic" to Americans; she also thought it would make others wonder what a Japanese breakfast consists of.
Oso Oso is an American rock band from Long Beach, New York. Jade Lilitri, formerly of State Lines, is the only permanent member. Jade uses Lilitri as a pen name. The band has released three studio albums and two EPs. Their 2019 release, Basking in the Glow and their 2022 release, Sore Thumb were named "Best New Music" by online music magazine Pitchfork.
Plunge is the second studio album by Fever Ray, an alias of Swedish musician Karin Dreijer. It was released on 27 October 2017 through Rabid Records. It is their first album in nearly eight years, following their 2009 eponymous debut. The album was largely recorded in Dreijer's Stockholm studio in collaboration with producers Paula Temple, Deena Abdelwahed, Nídia, Tami T, Peder Mannerfelt, and Johannes Berglund.
The Melodic Blue is the debut studio album by American rapper and record producer Baby Keem. "Bunny Is a Rider" is a song by American singer Caroline Polachek, released on July 14, 2021, through Perpetual Novice. It is the lead single from her fourth studio album Desire, I Want to Turn Into You. Written and co-produced by Polachek, it features production by frequent collaborator Danny L Harle. The song received critical acclaim and was named the best song of 2021 by Pitchfork.
This Is Why is the sixth studio album by the American rock band Paramore, released on February 10, 2023. It is the band's first album in nearly six years, following After Laughter (2017), as well as their first album to feature the same lineup as its predecessor. It is also the band's final studio album under Atlantic Records. The album was supported by four singles: "This Is Why", "The News", "C'est Comme Ça", and "Running Out of Time".
