South Scope is an Indian based, monthly, English-language film magazine which focuses on South Indian films, film personalities and the industry.

History

South Scope was established in 2009. [1] Allu Sirish is the founder and advisor. [2] Managing editor is Aruna R Krishnan, also senior editor and publisher of Ritz, a lifestyle magazine.

The magazine is based in Chennai and is published on a monthly basis. [2]

Distribution

South Scope is available on Indian news stands and in foreign markets - United States, Malaysia, Far East, Middle East and Europe. The magazine has 6 lacs (600,000) readers and its digital editions reach more than 10 countries worldwide.[ citation needed ]

Features

South Scope features reports on current film productions, reports on film industry parties, events attended by stars, and industry news, covering Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada film industries.

It includes articles and interviews with industry personalities, as well as reports on film making techniques and editorial features.

Gouravam (transl. Honour) is a 2013 Indian social thriller film, written and directed by Radha Mohan. Simultaneously shot in Tamil and Telugu languages, the film was produced by Prakash Raj under the banner of Duet Movies. It marks the acting debut of Allu Sirish, brother of Allu Arjun, and also stars Yami Gautam in the lead. Gouravam deals with the issue of honour killing. The film released on 19 April 2013 with a linear narrative in Tamil and with a non-linear narrative in Telugu. The film received mixed reviews from critics and audience.

ABCD: American-Born Confused Desi is a 2013 Indian Malayalam-language Black comedy film directed by Martin Prakkat, produced by Shibu Thameens under the banner of Thameens Films. It stars Dulquer Salmaan, Jacob Gregory, Tovino Thomas and Aparna Gopinath. The film features music composed by Gopi Sunder, cinematography is handled by Jomon T. John. The film deals about the journey of two young American Malayalees to Kerala. The title is based on the term American-Born Confused Desi. Released on 14 June 2013, the film received positive reviews and was commercially successful. It marked the first collaboration between Dulquer Salmaan and Martin Prakkat. The film was remade into Telugu in 2019 with the same name.

1971: Beyond Borders is a 2017 Indian Malayalam-language war film written and directed by Major Ravi. It is the fourth installment in the Major Mahadevan film series, with Mohanlal reprising his role as Colonel Mahadevan and a new character, Major Sahadevan. It also features Arunoday Singh and Allu Sirish. The film, set in two time periods, is based on the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971 and act as both prequel and follow-up to the series. Mohanlal's and Sirish's characters were modeled on Hoshiar Singh Dahiya and Arun Khetarpal, both of whom were awarded the Param Vir Chakra for their roles in the 1971 Indo-Pakistani War.

ABCD: American Born Confused Desi is an Indian Telugu-language drama film directed by Sanjeev Reddy and produced by Madhura Sreedhar Reddy. The film stars Allu Sirish and Rukshar Dhillon. The phrase American-Born Confused Desi describes Indians born in America, who have difficulty in balancing their ethnic culture within the majority non-Indian American culture. The film is a remake of the Malayalam film of the same name starring Dulquer Salmaan and was released on 17 May 2019.

Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, also known by the initialism AVPL, is a 2020 Indian Telugu-language action drama film written and directed by Trivikram Srinivas. The film stars Allu Arjun and Pooja Hegde, alongside Tabu, Jayaram, Sushanth, and Nivetha Pethuraj. Samuthirakani, Murali Sharma, Navdeep, Sunil, Sachin Khedekar, Harsha Vardhan, and Rajendra Prasad play other supporting roles. It is produced by Allu Aravind and S. Radha Krishna under their banners Geetha Arts and Haarika & Hassine Creations respectively.

Allu–Konidela family is a prominent Indian film family known for their work in Telugu cinema, with atleast 3 generations of the family involved in films, business ventures, and politics. Prominent heads of the family are comic actor Allu Ramalingaiah and his son-in-law, actor-politician Chiranjeevi.

<i>Urvasivo Rakshasivo</i> Upcoming film directed by Rakesh Sashii

Urvasivo Rakshasivo is a 2022 Indian Telugu-language romantic comedy film written and directed by Rakesh Sashi and produced by GA2 Pictures and Shri Tirumala Production. A remake of the 2018 Tamil language film Pyaar Prema Kaadhal, the film stars Allu Sirish, Anu Emmanuel, and Vennela Kishore. The music was composed by Achu Rajamani and Anup Rubens, with cinematography was handled by Tanveer Mir and editing by Karthika Srinivas respectively.
