Southard, Missouri

Southard is an unincorporated community in southern Laclede County, in the U.S. state of Missouri. [1] The community is on a county road two miles south of Nebo and 3.5 miles northwest of Lynchburg. The Pine Creek tributary to the Gasconade River flows past the south side of the community. [2]

History

A post office called Southard was established in 1906, and remained in operation until 1939. [3] D. T. Southard, an early postmaster, gave the community his last name. [4]

It is on Missouri Route Z about one-half mile north of the Laclede-Wright county line. Lynchburg is approximately seven miles to the east. The Gasconade River flows past one mile to the east.

Falcon is an unincorporated community in eastern Laclede County, Missouri, United States. It is approximately sixteen miles east of Lebanon on Route 32. The Gasconade River lies just east of the community, which is within the Mark Twain National Forest. The community consists of a post office and two houses.

Brownfield is an unincorporated community in northeastern Laclede County, in the U.S. state of Missouri. The community is located just over one mile southeast of the Laclede-Pulaski county line and one mile east of Missouri Route K. It is within the Mark Twain National Forest and the Gasconade River lies just one mile to the east.

Missouri Route 17 and the southwestern corner of Fort Leonard Wood are about two miles to the east.
