Southern Football Club is a football club from Kingston, Tasmania, Australia. They compete in the Southern Championship of the Football Federation Tasmania. The club was formed in 2009 by the merger of two existing clubs, Kingston Cannons and Christian United.
Rapid FC was founded in 1958. Rapid was highly successful during its life winning the State Championship 4 times, and the Southern Premiership 5 times. For a brief period in the 1980s, due to sponsorship reasons, they were known as Rapid-Wrest Point, before switching back. They played their final match in 1996, being relegated in the process to the Southern League 2. [2]
The name was changed and the club reformed as Kingston Cannons. [3] They immediately won the Southern League 2 and were promoted back to the League 1. [4]
At the end of the 2009 season, Kingston Cannons merged with Christian United to form Southern FC. In 2013 they won the Southern League 1 title and were runners up in 2014 gaining promotion into the Southern Championship.

Maccabi Hakoah Sydney City East FC, commonly known as Maccabi Hakoah, is an Australian semi-professional soccer club based in Sydney, New South Wales. The club was formed in 1939 as Sydney Hakoah by members of Sydney's Jewish community. They played between 1977 and 1986 in the National Soccer League as Eastern Suburbs (1977–1979) and Sydney City (1979–1987). Clarence United Football Club was an amateur soccer soccer club based in the City of Clarence, Tasmania, which competed in the NPL Tasmania, the second tier of the sport in the country below the A-League. Founded in 1978 the club spent much of its early history competing in lower divisions, where it has been reasonably successful, winning several lower division titles and cups. Despite this, Clarence United had struggled for many years to attain success at the highest level within the state, although Clarence United was finally crowned state champions for the first time in 2009. At the conclusion of the 2019 season, they merged with Hobart Zebras FC to form Clarence Zebras FC.

The Claremont Football Club, nicknamed The Magpies, is an Australian rules football club currently playing in the Southern Football League in Tasmania, Australia.
The club has worn a traditional Collingwood-style playing uniform since 1949 and is based in Hobart's northern suburbs, 14 km from the Hobart CBD.
Founded in 1924, Claremont participated in a number of local leagues but is best known for being one Tasmania's most successful amateur football clubs since joining the TAFL Southern Division in 1949, having won a total of seventeen (17) Southern Amateur premiership titles along with ten (10) Condor Shield state amateur premiership titles between 1965–1995.
Following the collapse of the Tasmanian Amateur Football League at the completion of the 1995 season, Claremont became one of the foundation members of the new STFL in 1996 and made the finals in its first season.
In 1997, Claremont made it through to its first STFL Grand Final but suffered a 25-point loss to Kingston, however the Magpies would dwindle away into an unaccustomed wilderness for almost two decades before flying high once again to make four consecutive grand finals between 2013–2016, the latter two years (2015-2016) bringing premiership joy to Claremont for the first time in twenty years and was even more noteworthy by virtue of the fact that Claremont was able to win back-to-back hat-tricks of premiership titles with the club's Colts, Reserves and Seniors all taking out SFL premierships in 2015 and 2016.
In 2017 the Claremont Football Club entered a team in the inaugural season of the Southern Football League Women's Competition and has done in each season since. Claremont Football Club is based at Abbotsfield Park where it has hosted its home matches since 1971, previous to that it played at the St Anne's Cricket Club ground from 1949-1970 and the Claremont Soccer Ground from 1924–1948.
