Spesbona is a genus of damselfly in the family Platycnemididae. It contains one species: Spesbona angusta , which was moved from the genus Metacnemis in 2013. [1]
The Platycnemididae are a family of damselflies. They are known commonly as white-legged damselflies. There are over 400 species native to the Old World. The family is divided into several subfamilies.
Allocnemis, formerly Chlorocnemis, is a genus of damselflies in the family Platycnemididae.
Arabicnemis is a monotypic genus of damselflies in the family Platycnemididae containing the single species Arabicnemis caerulea. It is known commonly as the powder blue damselfly. It is endemic to the Arabian Peninsula, where it occurs in Oman, the United Arab Emirates, and Yemen.
Elattoneura, the African threadtails, is a genus of damselflies in the family Platycnemididae. They were formerly placed in genus Prodasineura, but form a distinct clade. The adults are smallish and delicately built damselflies, and their males have very wide heads. The adults are typically found in sheltered locations beside or over running water, though a few prefer calmer water with much detritus. There appears to be two groups with differing habitat preferences. Those with pruinose faces and mostly blue eyes occupy watercourses in open terrain, while those with black or brightly coloured faces are found along forested streams.
Metacnemis is a genus of damselfly in the family Platycnemididae. It contains one species: Metacnemis valida
Oreocnemis is a monotypic genus of damselfly in the family Platycnemididae. It contains only Oreocnemis phoenix.
Prodasineura, the Asian threadtails, is a genus of damselflies in the family Protoneuridae. All the Afrotropical species formerly in this genus are now placed in Elattoneura, the African threadtails. Dijkstra et al. (2014) moved the genus from Protoneuridae to Platycnemididae based on molecular phylogenetic research.
Spesbona angusta, Spesbona is a species of damselfly in the family Platycnemididae. This species was moved from the genus Metacnemis in 2013.
Calicnemia is a genus of damselflies in the family Platycnemididae. There are over 20 species distributed in Southeast Asia, China, India, and Pakistan.
Coeliccia is a genus of damselflies in the family Platycnemididae. They are distributed in Asia from India to Japan to Indonesia. It is the largest genus in the family, with around 80 species.
Copera is a genus of damselflies in the family Platycnemididae. They are distributed in Asia, especially Southeast Asia.
Idiocnemis is a genus of damselflies in the family Platycnemididae. They are distributed on New Guinea and the surrounding islands. There are 20 species.
Asthenocnemis is a genus of white-legged damselfly in the family Platycnemididae. There are at least two described species in Asthenocnemis.
Denticnemis is a genus of white-legged damselfly in the family Platycnemididae. There is one described species in Denticnemis, D. bicolor.
Indocnemis is a genus of white-legged damselfly in the family Platycnemididae. There are at least three described species in Indocnemis.
Lieftinckia is a genus of white-legged damselfly in the family Platycnemididae. There are about seven described species in Lieftinckia.
Paracnemis is a genus of white-legged damselfly in the family Platycnemididae. There are at least two described species in Paracnemis.
Paramecocnemis is a genus of white-legged damselfly in the family Platycnemididae. There are about five described species in Paramecocnemis.
Rhyacocnemis is a genus of white-legged damselfly in the family Platycnemididae. There are at least four described species in Rhyacocnemis.
Palaiargia ernstmayri is a species of broad-winged damselfly in the family Platycnemididae. The species is endemic to the Arfak Mountains of New Guinea, with only four observations to date.
