Wayanad is a district in the north-east of the Indian state of Kerala,with administrative headquarters at the municipality of Kalpetta. It is the only plateau in Kerala. The Wayanad Plateau forms a continuation of the Mysore Plateau,the southern portion of the Deccan Plateau. It is set high in the Western Ghats with altitudes ranging from 700 to 2,100 meters. Vellari Mala,a 2,240 m (7,349 ft) high peak situated on the trijunction of Wayanad,Malappuram,and Kozhikode districts,is the highest point in Wayanad district. The district was formed on 1 November 1980 as the 12th district in Kerala,by carving out areas from Kozhikode and Kannur districts. An area of 885.92 km2 in the district is forested. Wayanad has three municipal towns—Kalpetta,Mananthavady and Sulthan Bathery. There are many indigenous tribes in this area. The Kabini River,a tributary of the Kaveri River,originates at Wayanad. Wayanad district,along with the Chaliyar valley in the neighbouring Nilambur in Malappuram district,is known for natural gold fields,which are also seen in other parts of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve. The Chaliyar river,which is the fourth longest river of Kerala,originates on the Wayanad plateau. The historically important Edakkal Caves are located in Wayanad district.
Nilambur is a major town,a municipality and a Taluk in the Malappuram district of the Indian state of Kerala. It is located close to the Nilgiris range of the Western Ghats on the banks of the Chaliyar River. This place is also known as 'Teak Town' because of the abundance of Nilambur teaks,which is a variety of a large,deciduous tree that occurs in mixed hardwood forests. Parveen Talha is an Indian civil servant,reported to be the first Muslim woman to serve in any Class I civil service in India,the first Indian Revenue Service officer to become a member of the Union Public Service Commission and the first woman to serve in Narcotics Department of India. She was honoured by the Government of India,in 2014,by bestowing on her the Padma Shri,the fourth highest civilian award,for her services to Indian Civil Service.

He served as the Collector of Tiruppur District in Tamil Nadu,Commissioner &Special Officer,Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation,Assistant Collector (Trainee) at Erode and Sub Collector at Kovilpatti before his appointment as Director for Tamil Nadu Institute of Urban Affairs Coimbatore City.
T. V. Anupama is an Indian Administrative Service officer. She served as the 43rd District collector of Thrissur. In 2010,Anupama secured fourth rank in the Civil Services Examination. She is known for her bold steps against politically powerful people. She served as district collector of Alappuzha district in 2017. She became Director of Scheduled tribes Development Department,Government of Kerala on 2 September 2021. Appointed as Land and Revenue commissioner on 24 November 2022.She is also given additional charges of Disaster Management Commissioner and Cyclone Risk Mitigation Project Manager. Anupama currently special secretary of the local self-government department (LSGD) on 01 June 2024.

Amir Subhani is a retired Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of 1987 batch from Bihar Cadre. He served as Chief Secretary to Government of Bihar from 1 January 2022 till 1 March 2024. Subhani was the 1987 batch UPSC-Civil Services Examination (CSE) topper securing "All-India Rank - 1".
