Perinthalmanna Taluk, formerly known as Walluvanad Taluk, comes under Perinthalmanna revenue division in Malappuram district of Kerala, India. [1] Its headquarters is the town of Perinthalmanna. [1] Perinthalmanna Taluk contains Perinthalmanna Municipality and 15 Gram panchayats. [1] Most of the administrative offices are located in the Mini-Civil Station at Perinthalmanna.
Perinthalmanna Taluk is bounded by Kadalundi River (Eranad Taluk) to north, Thuthapuzha River (a tributary of Bharathappuzha) to south, Kuttippuram block of Tirur Taluk to west, and Mannarkkad Taluk (Silent Valley) to east. [2] [3]
Perinthalmanna was the headquarters of the Old Walluvanad Taluk in the British Malabar District. [4] Walluvanad Taluk was divided into six Revenue blocks: Mankada, Perinthalmanna, Mannarkkad, Ottapalam, Sreekrishnapuram, and Pattambi. [4] [5] Walluvanad was one of the two Taluks included in the Malappuram Revenue Division (the other being Eranad Taluk) of British Malabar. [4] On 1 November 1957, the Walluvanad Taluk was divided into two: Perinthalmanna Taluk and Ottapalam Taluk. [5] The Revenue blocks of Mankada, Perinthalmanna, and Mannarkkad were included in the Perinthalmanna Taluk, while Ottapalam, Sreekrishnapuram, and Pattambi were transferred to the newly formed Ottapalam Taluk. [5] Later Attappadi Revenue block was separated from Mannarkkad Block. [2]
During the formation of Malappuram district on 16 June 1969, it was separated from Palakkad district [6] and Revenue blocks of Mannarkkad and Attappadi were separated from Perinthalmanna Taluk to form Mannarkkad Taluk. [2] Now, Perinthalmanna Taluk has 24 villages. [3]

Malappuram, is one of the 14 districts in the Indian state of Kerala, with a coastline of 70 km (43 mi). It is the most populous district of Kerala, which is home to around 13% of the total population of the state. Valluvanad was an independent chiefdom in present-day central Kerala that held power from the early 12th century to the end of the 18th century. Pattambi is located along the banks of Bharathappuzha river. A Mini Civil Station also functions here to provide government-related services.
Mannarkkad, formerly known as Mannarghat, is a municipal town in Palakkad district of the Indian state of Kerala. The Silent Valley National Park and the Attappadi Reserve Forest are located in Mannarkkad Taluk. Mannarkkad is situated 36 km away from district headquarters Palakkad on National Highway 966.
Cherpulassery is a town and municipality in the Palakkad district, of Kerala, India. Cherpulassery is often called the Sabarimala of Malabar as the famous Ayyappankavu temple is located here. The Puthanalakkal Bhagavathi temple and the Kalavela and Pooram associated with it is one of the largest festivals in the region. Parudur is a village and gram panchayat in Pattambi taluk, Palakkad district in the state of Kerala, India. Parudur was originally a part of Kuttippuram Block Panchayat in Tirur Taluk of erstwhile Kozhikode district, before the formation of Malappuram district. After the formation of Malappuram district, Tirur Taluk became a part of Malappuram and Parudur village was transferred to Ottapalam Taluk. Today it forms part of Pattambi taluk.
Angadippuram is a major suburb of Perinthalmanna town, in Malappuram District of Kerala. It was the capital of the powerful medieval kingdom of Valluvanad. Angadippuram is also known for Angadippuram Laterite, a notified go-heritage monument. Angadippuram is famous for its two temples, the Thirumandhamkunnu Temple and the Tali Mahadeva Temple. Kozhikode - Palakkad National Highway 966 passes through the town and Angadipuram Railway Station is one of the major railway station on the Nilambur - Shornur Line of Palakkad Division, Southern Railways. It is connected to major cities Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram through this line.

Perinthalmanna is a major town and municipality in Malappuram district, Kerala, India. It serves as the headquarters of the Perinthalmanna Taluk, and a block and a Revenue Division by the same name. It was formerly the headquarters of Valluvanad Taluk, which was one of the two Taluks in the Malappuram Revenue Division of the erstwhile Malabar District during the British Raj. The town is located 23 kilometres (14 mi) southwest to the city of Malappuram at the centre of the Kozhikode–Malappuram–Perinthalmanna–Palakkad National Highway 966.

Pattambi taluk is bounded by Ottapalam Taluk of Palakkad district to the east, Ponnani taluk of Malappuram district to the west, Tirur and Perinthalmanna Taluks of Malappuram district to the north, and Kunnamkulam Taluk of Thrissur district to the south.
Eranad Taluk comes under Perinthalmanna revenue division in Malappuram district of Kerala, India. Its headquarters is the city of Manjeri. Eranad Taluk contains two municipalities - Manjeri and Malappuram. Most of the administrative offices are located in the Civil Station at Malappuram and the Mini-Civil Station at Manjeri.
