St Vincent's GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the Blarney Street and Sundays Well parts of Cork city, Ireland. It also includes in its catchment area Gurranabraher, Churchfield and Knocknaheeny. Teams are fielded in Gaelic football, hurling and camogie. The club participates in Cork GAA competitions and in Seandún board competitions. The greatest achievements in the club's history was winning the 1968 Cork Intermediate Hurling Championship and the 2006 & 2012 Premier Intermediate Football Championship. As a result, they were promoted to senior status after both Premier Intermediate Football Championship wins but were not able to maintain senior status. The club now plays in the Premier Intermediate Football Championship and Junior A Hurling Championship.

History

In 1943 St Vincent's Hurling and Football club was founded to promote Gaelic games in the Blarney Street and Sundays Well areas on the North West side of Cork City. Later, as the city grew, their catchment area expanded to encompass Gurranabraher, Churchfield and Knocknaheeny. From small beginnings few could have imagined that Cumman Uinsinn Naofa would develop so quickly to become such a thriving and successful club in such a short period of time.

By 1946 the club had won the Junior Football County Final and boasted to being one of the first clubs in the county to own their own pitch. The grounds would be redeveloped on a couple of occasions over the decades culminating in the activities from the early nineties which have seen the building of a state of the art complex housing several dressing rooms, meeting rooms, a large training hall, 3 adult size pitches and a social club in Blarney Rd. An all-weather pitch has recently been installed and there are plans to install floodlighting on one of the adult pitches.

On the playing side, the club has won numerous honours over the years at all levels including the intermediate hurling county title in 1968 and a senior hurling league in 1972. Recent years has heralded great success at underage level with various teams winning honours at the premier and A grades. The highlight of this has been the winning of the Minor Premier County in 1998. These players would go on to join with members of other successful underage teams from the 90’s to help the club win its first intermediate football title in 2006, and a second one came in quick succession in 2012. The club celebrated its 75th anniversary in 2018. The club this year is marking the centenary of the 'Ballycannon Boy's' six young Irish Volunteers killed by British Crown Forces at Kerry Pike near Clogheen Co. Cork as well as the centenary of Alderman Tadhg Barry shot and killed by a British Army sentry while interned at Ballykinlar Camp in Co. Down, St. Vincent's in years gone by had juvenile teams named after Irish patriots.

Ballinhassig is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the village of Ballinhassig in County Cork, Republic of Ireland. The club was founded in 1886, and now plays Hurling at Premier Intermediate level, having won the Cork Intermediate Hurling Championship in 2005, and the Cork Junior Hurling Championship in 2002.
Stemming from these County Championship wins, Ballinhassig competed in Munster and All-Ireland Club Championships, and have won the following Club Championship Finals: Junior Munster Club Final, Junior All-Ireland Junior Club Hurling Championship Final, Intermediate Munster Club Final; but lost out to Dicksboro, of Kilkenny town, in the All-Ireland Intermediate Club Hurling Championship Final, played in Croke Park. The club also plays Gaelic football, but hurling is much stronger. The club is a member of Carrigdhoun division of Cork GAA.

Carbery GAA

Carbery GAA is a Gaelic football and Hurling division in the south-west area of County Cork, Ireland. The division is one of eight divisions of the Cork County Board and a division is responsible for organising competitions for the clubs within the division from Under 12 up to adult level The winners of these competitions compete against other divisional champions to determine which club is the county champion. In addition, the division selects football and hurling teams from the adult teams playing at junior level or county intermediate level, and these then compete for the Cork GAA Senior Football Championship and Cork Senior Hurling Championship.

Ilen Rovers is a Gaelic football club in County Cork, Ireland. The club is affiliated to Cork GAA and Carbery GAA divisional boards. Ilen Rovers is a rural community that is located on the River Ilen, the West Cork river that flows through Skibbereen before entering the sea near the fishing port of Baltimore, the gateway to the islands of Sherkin, Cape Clear and Heir. The club crest depicts this rural geographical area showing the Beacon to the south and Kilcoe castle to the west with the Ilen flowing between and the sea beyond.

Carrigaline GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the town of Carrigaline in County Cork, Ireland. The club fields both Gaelic football and hurling teams in competitions organised by Cork County Board. The club is part of the Carrigdhoun division of Cork. They are a Senior Football club, and a Premier Intermediate Hurling club. Cork Inter-county player Nicholas Murphy plays his club football with Carrigaline. Despite competing in numerous county finals such as Intermediate football final of 2003 and Intermediate hurling of 2006, Carrigaline failed to capture a county title. This was until October 12, 2008 when they captured their first adult county after an Intermediate A Hurling win over Bandon. In 2009 they captured the football title, by beating Cill na Martra. In 2014 they secured their first top level county by defeating St. Finbarr's, in the Premier 1 Minor Football Final. In 2015 the club reached the Promised Land beating St Michael's in the Cork Premier Intermediate Football Championship Final, on a scoreline of 0–12 to 0-11.

Ballincollig GAA is a Gaelic football and hurling club based in the town of Ballincollig, County Cork, Ireland. The club is affiliated with the Cork GAA board and plays in the Muskerry divisional competitions. In 2009, the club will participate in the Cork Senior Football Championship and the Cork Intermediate Hurling Championship.

Kanturk GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club with Gaelic football and hurling teams, based in the town of Kanturk, County Cork, Ireland which forms part of the parish of Kanturk and Lismire. Fr O'Neill's GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club founded in 1959 and based in the parish of Ballymacoda and Ladysbridge in Cork, Ireland. The club fields hurling and Gaelic football teams in competitions organised by the Cork county board and Imokilly division.

Cloughduv GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association based in the village of Cloughduv in County Cork, Ireland. The club is a member of the Muskerry division of Cork GAA. The club fields hurling team only. There are two Gaelic football clubs in the parish - Canovee and Kilmurry - and there is often an overlap of players between the different clubs.

Glanworth GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the parish of Glanworth, County Cork, Ireland. Gurranabraher is a residential suburb on the north western side of Cork City. Its bounds range from the North Cathedral to Bakers Road to Blarney Street. Gurranabraher is located in Cork North-Central Dáil Éireann constituency.
