St Ita's [1] is a Gaelic football and hurling club based in the village of Gortroe, (near Youghal), County Cork, Ireland. It competes in competitions organized by Cork county board and the Imokilly divisional board. In 2013, Seamus Harnedy became the first player from the club to play with the Cork senior hurling team. He was a major success and ended up with being included in the 2013 and 2018 All-Star team. [2]

History

History records show that in 1901 St Ita's played under the name of Gortroe in the East Cork Hurling division their opponents were Blackrock. The records do not give scores but it is shown that Blackrock advanced to the next stage of the competition. The following year 1902 its recorded that Gortroe played against Evergreen in the firsts and against United Nationals in the seconds. The records do not give scores but Gortroe lost out to Evergreen who then advanced to the semi-finals against Dungourney. For the records Dungourney were eventual winners. The club was reformed in 1971. The club performed at Junior B in hurling until 1980 when the club won the East Cork Junior B Hurling Championship. The club performed at Junior A level for a number of years, but was eventually regraded back to Junior B. In 2007, St Ita's made history as they won the Cork Junior B Hurling Championship for the first time. They went on to compete in the Munster Junior B Club Hurling Championship, losing by 2 point to Ballingarry of Tipperary

Ballinhassig is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the village of Ballinhassig in County Cork, Republic of Ireland. The club was founded in 1886, and now plays Hurling at Premier Intermediate level, having won the Cork Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship in 2005, and the Cork Junior Hurling Championship in 2002.
Stemming from these County Championship wins, Ballinhassig competed in Munster and All-Ireland Club Championships, and have won the following Club Championship Finals: Junior Munster Club Final, Junior All-Ireland Junior Club Hurling Championship Final, Intermediate Munster Club Final; but lost out to Dicksboro, of Kilkenny town, in the All-Ireland Intermediate Club Hurling Championship Final, played in Croke Park. The club also plays Gaelic football, but hurling is much stronger. The club is a member of Carrigdhoun division of Cork GAA.

Kilworth GAA, or Cill Úird, is a hurling and Gaelic football club located in the village of Kilworth in the north-eastern corner of County Cork, Ireland. It is affiliated to Cork GAA county board and to Avondhu GAA divisional board.

Imokilly GAA is a Gaelic football and Hurling division in the east of Cork, Ireland. The division includes towns such as Midleton, Cobh, and Youghal. It is one of eight divisions of Cork County Board. It organizes competitions for the clubs within the division, from Under 12 up to the adult level. The winners of these competitions compete against other divisional champions to determine which club is the county champion. In addition, the division selects football and hurling teams from the adult teams playing at junior level or county intermediate level, and these then compete for the Cork Senior Football Championship and Cork Senior Hurling Championship. The division is known best for its hurlers, and in recent times, players from here have dominated on the Cork GAA senior hurling team.

Castlemagner GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the village of Castlemagner in the north-west of County Cork, Ireland. Founded in 1900, the club plays both hurling and football and is affiliated with Duhallow GAA. The club currently competes in the Duhallow Junior A Hurling Championship and the Duhallow Junior A Football Championship.

Castlemartyr GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the village of Castlemartyr, Cork, Republic of Ireland. The club fields teams in both Gaelic football and hurling. It is a member of the Imokilly division of Cork GAA.

St Vincent's Hurling and Football Club is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the Blarney Street and Sundays Well parts of Cork city, Ireland. It also includes in its catchment area Gurranabraher, Churchfield and Knocknaheeny. Teams are fielded in Gaelic football, hurling and camogie. The club participates in Cork GAA competitions and in Seandún board competitions. The greatest achievements in the club's history was winning the 1968 Cork Intermediate Hurling Championship and the 2006 & 2012 Premier Intermediate Football Championship. As a result, they were promoted to senior status after both Premier Intermediate Football Championship wins but were not able to maintain senior status. The club now plays in the Premier Intermediate Football Championship and Junior A Hurling Championship.

Dungourney GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Dungourney, County Cork, Ireland. The club fields teams in both Gaelic football and hurling. It is a member of the Imokilly division of Cork GAA. The club was one of the strongest clubs in the Cork during the first decade of the 20th century. Its 3 Cork Senior Hurling Championship titles were the most by a club outside Cork City for many years. The best known player is Jamesy Kelleher who was included on Cork's Hurling Team of the Century. In 1902, the club represented Cork in the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship. This resulted in the club winning the All-Ireland hurling title.
