The twin villages of Ballineen and Enniskeane, or Enniskean, in County Cork in Ireland are 43 km (26.72 mi) southwest of Cork City, on the R586 road. The linear settlement lies on the River Bandon between Bandon and Dunmanway. The combined settlement is designated as a 'key village' by Cork County Council for planning purposes and, as of the 2016 census, had a population of 692 people.

It won its only Cork Senior Football Championship in 1992 and subsequently won the 1992–93 All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship after beating Éire Óg of Carlow in the final replay. The club now plays in the Premier Intermediate Football Championship and Junior A Hurling Championship.
Ciarán Sheehan is an Irish sportsman. Sheehan played Gaelic football and hurling with his local club Éire Óg, his divisional side Muskerry, and was a member of the Cork senior football team from 2010 until 2013. He signed a two-year contract to play Australian rules football with the Carlton Football Club in 2013, later returning to Ireland.
John Caulfield is a retired League of Ireland footballer. He has been the manager of Galway United F.C. since August 2020. Caulfield spent the majority of his playing career at Cork City F.C. and was a prominent member of the team that won the 1992–93 League of Ireland Premier Division. He was also the League of Ireland Premier Division Top Scorer in both 1991–92 and 1994–95. As a manager Caulfield has won the 2016 FAI Cup, 2017 FAI Cup and 2017 League of Ireland Premier Division with Cork City F.C. Caulfield has also played Gaelic football and represented both Roscommon and Cork at inter-county level, winning an All-Ireland title with the latter.
