Stephen Thrower (born 9 December 1963) is an English musician and author.
In 1980, Thrower formed the group Possession with Victor Watkins and Anna Virginia War and they released the album The Thin White Arms, Obtusely Angled At The Elbow, Methodically Dipping And Emerging in 1984.
After communicating via a series of letters, Thrower worked with the band Coil in 1984 and 1985. In late 1987, Thrower became a full-time member of the band. He contributed to the albums Gold Is the Metal with the Broadest Shoulders , Love's Secret Domain , and Stolen & Contaminated Songs . With Coil, he also worked on several soundtracks including the unreleased soundtrack for Hellraiser by Clive Barker, and recorded the soundtrack to the Derek Jarman film, The Angelic Conversation ; he also made appearances in Jarman's films, Caravaggio , The Last of England and Imagining October. Thrower left Coil in 1992.
Thrower's current music project is Cyclobe, with Ossian Brown (another former Coil member). [1] Their first two albums, Luminous Darkness and The Visitors were released on the UK based record label, Phantomcode, [2] whilst their collaboration with Nurse with Wound, Paraparaparallelogrammatica, was issued by the US label Beta Lactam.
As Cyclobe, he wrote the theme music for George Barry's Death Bed: The Bed That Eats , and the first Pakistani horror film, Zibahkhana. In 2009, Thrower contributed an electronic score to the film Down Terrace. The following year with Cyclobe he released the album Wounded Galaxies Tap at The Window, along with a single "The Eclipser" / "The Moths of Pre-Sleep" released by DOT DOT DOT Music. Thrower contributed an opening track to Florian-Ayala Fauna's 2016 album Dark Night of the Soul. [3]
Thrower also records and performs with The Amal Gamal Ensemble, and with David Knight in the group UnicaZürn. The latter's debut album, Temporal Bends, featured artwork and a guest appearance from Danielle Dax.
Thrower is also a published author on horror and 'off-mainstream' cinema. [1] In 1985, Thrower began writing reviews for the U.K. horror magazine Shock Xpress before launching his own film periodical Eyeball in 1989. In terms of film history, Thrower has authored Beyond Terror: The Films of Lucio Fulci , The Eyeball Compendium, Nightmare USA: The Untold Story of the Exploitation Independents, and the two-volume Murderous Passions: The Delirious Cinema of Jesús Franco .
Nothing Records was an American record label specializing in industrial rock and electronic music, founded by John Malm Jr. and Trent Reznor in 1992. It is considered an example of a vanity label, where an artist is able to run a label with some small degree of independence within a larger parent company, in this case the larger company being Interscope Records.

Coil were an English experimental music group formed in 1982 in London and dissolved in 2005. Initially envisioned as a solo project by musician John Balance, Coil evolved into a full-time project with the addition of his partner and Psychic TV bandmate Peter Christopherson, formerly of pioneering industrial music group Throbbing Gristle. Coil's work explored themes related to the occult, sexuality, alchemy, and drugs while influencing genres such as gothic rock, neofolk and dark ambient. AllMusic called the group "one of the most beloved, mythologized groups to emerge from the British post-industrial scene."
Peter Martin Christopherson was an English musician, video director, commercial artist, designer and photographer, and former member of British design agency Hipgnosis.

Timothy Lewis – best known by the stage name Thighpaulsandra – is a Welsh experimental musician and multi-instrumentalist, known mostly for performing on synthesizers and keyboards. He began his career working with Julian Cope in the late 1980s, becoming a member of Cope's touring band. A collaboration with Cope in 1993 followed, forming the experimental duo Queen Elizabeth. In 1997, former Cope guitarist Mike Mooney invited Thighpaulsandra to fill in for the departing Kate Radley on a Spiritualized tour, and he remained with the band until early 2008. In 1998, Lewis also became a member of the experimental band Coil. He has subsequently released several solo albums under the Thighpaulsandra moniker.
Steven Severin is an English songwriter, composer, multi-instrumentalist and producer. He is best known as the bassist of the rock band Siouxsie and the Banshees which he co-founded in 1976. He was also a member of the short-lived band the Glove. He took the name "Severin" from the Leopold von Sacher-Masoch character who is mentioned in the Velvet Underground song "Venus in Furs". Severin had earlier considered "Steve Spunker" for his stage name. After the split of Siouxsie and the Banshees in 1996, Severin created his own label RE: and released several instrumental albums via his official website. In the late 2000s and the early 2010s, he regularly performed live in solo, playing music over footage of silent films.

Cyclobe (1999–present) are a music duo formed by Stephen Thrower and Ossian Brown. They make hallucinatory electronic soundscapes by mixing sampled and heavily synthesized sounds with acoustic arrangements for a variety of instruments including hurdy-gurdy, border pipes, duduk and clarinet. Their approach draws upon diverse forms, including acousmatic, drone music, sound collage, folk and progressive rock.
