Deshabandu Muttiah Muralitharan is a Sri Lankan cricket coach,businessman and former professional cricketer. Averaging over six wickets per Test match,he is widely regarded as one of the greatest players in the history of the sport. He is the only bowler to take 800 Test wickets and more than 530 One Day International (ODI) wickets. As of 2024,he has taken more wickets in international cricket than any other bowler. Muralitharan was a part of the Sri Lankan team that won the 1996 Cricket World Cup.

Rudolf Eric Koertzen was a South African international cricket umpire and former cricketer. A cricket enthusiast since his youth,he played league cricket while working as a clerk for South African Railways. He began umpiring in 1981,before becoming a full-time official eleven years later. In an international career spanning 18 years,he officiated in a record 331 matches and is only behind Aleem Dar in officiating as an umpire in most international matches.
Simon James Arthur Taufel is an Australian former cricket umpire who was earlier a member of the ICC Elite umpire panel. He won five consecutive ICC Umpire of the Year awards between 2004 and 2008,and is widely regarded as the greatest umpire of all time. He announced his retirement from international cricket on 26 September 2012,after the 2012 ICC World Twenty20 final. He subsequently worked as the ICC's Umpire Performance and Training Manager until October 2015. In 2020 he joined the Channel Seven commentary team as an expert commentator for the 2020/21 test series.
Aleem Dar PP is a Pakistani cricket umpire and former first-class cricketer. He has been a member of the Elite Panel of ICC Umpires. Dar won the David Shepherd Trophy three years in a row from 2009 to 2011,after being nominated twice in 2005 and 2006. Aleem Dar,Marais Erasmus,Richard Kettleborough,Kumar Dharmasena and Simon Taufel were the only umpires to have received the award from its inception until 2017. Before becoming an umpire,Dar played first-class cricket as a right-handed batsman and a leg-break bowler for Allied Bank,Gujranwala,Lahore and Pakistan Railways teams.
Dandeniyage Somachandra de Silva also known as D. S. de Silva is a Sri Lankan former cricketer,who played Test and One Day International cricket in the 1970s and 1980s. He is the first ODI cap for Sri Lanka,second test cap for Sri Lanka and was part of Sri Lanka's first test team. He bowled leg spin,and on the tour of Pakistan in 1982 he became the first Sri Lankan bowler to take five wickets in a Test innings. He was also the oldest player to lead Sri Lanka in test cricket during a test tour to New Zealand in 1983. He is also regarded as the longest serving spinner to have played for Sri Lanka and considered one of the finest leg spinners to have emerged from Sri Lanka.
The ICC Super Series 2005 was a cricket series held in Australia during October 2005,organised by the International Cricket Council (ICC). It was played between Australia and a World XI team of players selected from other countries. The series consisted of three One Day Internationals and one Test match. Australia won all four matches.

He is a member of the Elite Panel of ICC Umpires and the first person to participate in an ICC Cricket World Cup final both as a player and an umpire;he was a member of the Sri Lankan side that won the 1996 Cricket World Cup. He was a right-handed batsman and a right-arm off break bowler.
Darrell Bruce Hair is an Australian former Test match cricket umpire,from New South Wales. He was on the International panel of umpires from 2002 to 2003,before he,along with fellow Australian Simon Taufel,and New Zealander Billy Bowden,was appointed to the ICC Elite umpire panel. After an ICC board meeting discussed his actions in a Test match between Pakistan and England in 2006 it was decided he should not umpire matches involving the Test playing nations. He was restored to the Elite Panel by the ICC on 12 March 2008 and stood in the England v New Zealand Tests at Old Trafford in May and Trent Bridge in June 2008.
The R. Premadasa Cricket Stadium(RPS) (Sinhala:ආර්. ප්රේමදාසක්රීඩාංගනය,Tamil:ஆர். பிரேமதாசஅரங்கம்;formerly known as Khettarama Stadium) is a cricket stadium on Khettarama Road,in the Maligawatta suburb of Colombo,Sri Lanka. The stadium was,before June 1994,known as the Khettarama Cricket Stadium and is today one of the main venues where the Sri Lankan cricket team play,having hosted more than 100 one-day international matches. It is the largest stadium in Sri Lanka with a capacity of 35,000 spectators. It has hosted the 2012 ICC World Twenty20 final between Sri Lanka and West Indies;the 2002 ICC Champions Trophy final between Sri Lanka and India and first semi-final of the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup between Sri Lanka and New Zealand. This was where the highest Test score in history was recorded;952 by Sri Lanka against India. With capacity exceeding Lord's in England,the stadium is known as the "home of Sri Lankan cricket".
Asad Rauf was a Pakistani cricket player and umpire. He was a member of the ICC Elite Umpire Panel from 2006 to 2013. Alleged to have been involved in match-fixing and spot-fixing of cricket matches,he was found guilty of corruption by the Board of Control for Cricket in India in February 2016 and banned for five years.
The 2008–09 international cricket season was between September 2008 and March 2009. The season saw the security concerns for cricket in Pakistan reach a pinnacle. The ICC Champions Trophy,scheduled to be held in Pakistan in September 2008,was postponed to 2009 after five of the participating nations refused to send their teams for the event. In November 2008,a Pakistani militant group launched terror attacks in Mumbai. This led to India cancelling their tour of Pakistan originally scheduled for January and February 2009. Sri Lanka agreed to tour Pakistan in place of India. However,the tour was jeopardised by a terror attack in Lahore where gunmen fired at a bus carrying the Sri Lankan team,injuring six team members. The Champions Trophy was later relocated to South Africa. No international cricket were played in Pakistan for more than five years. This period of isolation ended when Zimbabwe toured Pakistan in May 2015. After successfully hosting a few T20Is against World-XI,the Sri Lanka cricket team and the West Indians from 2017 to 2018,a few matches of the Pakistan Super League from 2017 to 2019,the whole season in 2020 as well as hosting complete tours against Sri Lankan and Bangladeshi cricket teams respectively during the 2019–20 season,built a good reputation of Pakistan. Hence,by the end of 2019,the Pakistan Cricket Board,announced that they would no longer play any of their future home matches at a neutral venue,indicating that International Cricket has returned to the country on full-time basis.
Marais Erasmus is a South African former first-class cricketer who is currently serving as an international cricket umpire. He is a member of the Elite Panel of ICC Umpires and stands in matches in all three formats of international cricket –Test matches,One Day Internationals (ODIs),and Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is).
