Sunset 4A Region

The Sunset 4A Region is a part of the Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association and is one of two conferences in Southern Nevada 4A high school athletics. The Sunset Region consists of large schools in the western parts of Las Vegas and North Las Vegas and Pahrump, Nevada. There are two division in the Sunset 4A Region, Northwest and Southwest. The Sunset 4A Region was a part of the Southern Nevada 4-A Region, until the conference was divided into two separate regions due to the constant expansion and development of new high schools in the Las Vegas metro.

For the 2008–09 school year, the conference welcomed two new members, Pahrump Valley High School from Pahrump, Nevada who moved up from the class 3A and Desert Oasis High School which opened in southwest Las Vegas in the fall of 2008. Desert Oasis was an independent in football for the 2008 season before joining the Southwest Division as a full-time football member in 2009. They participate in the Southwest Division in all other sports. [1] Pahrump Valley is a full member of the Southwest Division in all sports. [2] Faith Lutheran High School moved from 3A to 4A at the beginning of the 2009–10 school year and is a member of the Northwest Division. [3]

The Meadows School has affiliate member status in boys and girls' tennis. It has a K–12 enrollment of 763 and competes at the 2A level in other sports.

Several sports including Roller Hockey and Lacrosse are sponsored by some of the conference's schools but are independent of the NIAA and the Sunset Conference.

CIF Southern Section

The California Interscholastic Federation-Southern Section (CIF-SS) is the governing body for high school athletics in most of Southern California and is the largest of the ten sections that comprise the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF). Its membership includes most public and private high schools in Orange, Los Angeles, Riverside, San Bernardino, Ventura, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo counties. Teams from the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) and surrounding areas have competed in the CIF Los Angeles City Section since 1935. CIFSS's offices are located in Los Alamitos.

The Northern Nevada 4A Region is a part of the Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association, governing the northern half of Nevada for high school athletics. The Northern 4A league is the large-school level, which has schools with enrollments of 1,200 and higher. The region is split into two leagues. The High Desert League and the Sierra League. Both leagues are divided by proximity with the High Desert encompassing the schools north of Mill Street in Reno, while the schools in the Sierra League are south of Mill Street.

The Sunrise 4A Region is a part of the Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association and is one of two conferences in Southern Nevada 4A high school athletics. The Sunrise Region consists of large schools in Henderson, Nevada and on the eastern parts of Las Vegas and North Las Vegas, Nevada. There are two division in the Sunrise 4A Region, Northeast and Southeast. The Sunrise 4A Region was a part of the Southern Nevada 4-A Region, until the conference was divided into two separate regions before the 2000-01 school year due to the constant expansion and development of new high schools in the Las Vegas Valley. Sunrise Mountain High School joined the Northeast Division most recently, during the 2009-10 school year.

Desert Oasis High School is a public high school that opened in Enterprise, Nevada in August 2008. The school, which is a part of the Clark County School District, is the first new public school to be opened in Clark County since Legacy High School was opened in 2006. The school also transferred approximately 1,000 students from Sierra Vista High School and others from Liberty High School.

Cimarron-Memorial High School is a public high school in Las Vegas, Nevada and part of the Clark County School District.

Legacy High School (North Las Vegas, Nevada) Public high school

Legacy High School is a high school in North Las Vegas, Nevada that opened in 2006. It is part of the Clark County School District, The school opened with an enrollment of 1,820 and currently has an enrollment of 2,980. Legacy High School describes itself as a Global Studies school, offering eight different sections of foreign language. When the school opened during the 2006-07 school year, Legacy offered Arabic as one of its world languages courses, the first high school in Nevada to do so. The program has since been discontinued.

Pahrump Valley

Pahrump Valley is a Mojave Desert valley west of Las Vegas and the Spring Mountains massif in southern Nye County, Nevada, and eastern San Bernardino County, California. Pahrump, Nevada, is in the valley's center and the Tecopa and Chicago Valleys are immediately to the west. The valley has routes to Death Valley and a route to Las Vegas. Pahrump Valley Days is the annual event in February each year, along with the sanctioned JRH-HS Rodeo.
