Super J-Cup 2020 was the eighth Super J-Cup professional wrestling single-elimination tournament produced by New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW). It was a one-night event, taking place on December 12, 2020. The tournament featured inter-promotional matches between junior heavyweight wrestlers from various wrestling promotions.

Background

During the Road to Power Struggle show on November 2, 2020, NJPW announced that the Super J-Cup would return on December 12, and will take place entirely in the United States. [1] Including 2019's Super J-Cup, this was the first time that the tournament is held in back-to-back years since 1994 and 1995.

Karl Fredericks was originally scheduled to team with Ren Narita to face Hikuleo and Kenta of Bullet Club, but it was announced on December 12 that Fredericks sustained an unknown injury. Kevin Knight was announced as his replacement. [2]

It was a two-night event taking place on December 22 and December 23, 2009 at the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan. The interpromotional tournament featured junior heavyweight wrestlers from various Japanese promotions, marking its return after a five-year hiatus, last held in 2004. This was the second time that NJPW was hosting the event, the first time being the inaugural tournament in 1994, while the 1995, 2000 and 2004 editions were hosted by different promotions.

The Skydiving-J was a professional wrestling event produced by New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW). The event took place on June 17, 1996 at the Nippon Budokan in Tokyo, Japan. The event was notable for revolutionizing junior heavyweight wrestling in NJPW and Japanese wrestling history. The event aired on television on TV Asahi on July 6, 1996. All of the matches contested at the event were junior heavyweight championship matches from different promotions from Japan. This was a very significant event in the revolution of junior heavyweight wrestling as title defences from various promotions at the event would result in the unification of various junior heavyweight championships to create the J-Crown.

He is currently one-half of the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions alongside Drilla Moloney, in their second reign. Also in NJPW, Connors was the winner of the 2020 Lion's Break Crown.

Kevin Knight is an American professional wrestler. He is currently signed to New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) where he is a former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champion.
