The 'Surinamese Cup (Dutch: Beker van Suriname) is a competition organized by the Suriname Surinaamse Voetbal Bond (SVB) since 1992. It was based on the size of the KNVB Cup The tournament consists of all teams from the top two layers of the Surinamese Football League Eerste Divisie and District Divisions.

History

The tournament began in the 1992 season. The first champion was the PVV. In 2007, the SV Robinhood won for the fifth time, becoming the largest tournament champion

SVB Topklasse

The Topklasse is a football championship for clubs run by the Surinaamse Voetbal Bond. The Topklasse is at the top of the system of Surinamese football championships. The league currently comprises twelve teams and operates a system of promotion and relegation. Seasons run from November to June of the next year, with teams playing 22 games in the regular season.The league was known as the Hoofdklasse but became Topklasse for the season of 2016/2017 and upcoming seasons. The Hoofdklasse name is now used by the former Eerste Klasse, the second division of Suriname.

Sportvereniging Nationaal Leger known as SNL, is the Surinamese football club of the national military, which currently plays in the SVB Eerste Klasse. They play their home games in Paramaribo at the Dr. Ir. Franklin Essed Stadion.

S.V. Nishan 42

Sport Vereniging Nishan 42 is a Surinamese football club based in Meerzorg. They begin their first season in the Surinamese Hoofdklasse in 2015–16, following promotion from the SVB Eerste Klasse. They won their first Beker van Suriname, Suriname's top cup tournament, during the 2014–15 season. Then they played the President's Cup in 2015 and won it for the first time also.

Gordon Kinsaini is a Surinamese footballer playing as a Midfielder for SV Leo Victor in the Hoofdklasse. He previously played for SV Robinhood, and for the Suriname national team.

Giovanni Waal is a Surinamese footballer playing as a Forward for Inter Moengotapoe in the Hoofdklasse, and for the Suriname national team.

Edwien Reinier Schal, known as Wiene Schal is a retired Surinamese footballer who started his career as a forward for SV Transvaal in the Hoofdklasse, and for the Suriname national team. A striker for the majority of his career, he was utilized more as defender towards the end of his career. He is considered one of the greatest footballers in the countries history, having captained SV Transvaal to two CONCACAF Champions Cups and five national titles, in what is considered the golden age of the clubs history.

Delano Lloyd Rigters is a former Surinamese International football player who played his entire career in Suriname, playing for Voorwaarts, MVV, Robinhood as well as for the Suriname national team. He spent 16 years with Robinhood, finishing as the league top goal scorer four times. He also helped his club win ten national titles, having made it to the CONCACAF Champions' Cup final on three occasions.

Umberto Orlando Klinker is a former Surinamese football player who played the majority of his career for S.V. Robinhood in the SVB Hoofdklasse and for the Suriname national team. Klinker helped Robinhood to win several national championships in the eighties and finished as the league top scorer in 1982 and 1983.

Wilfred 'Omoe' Frederik Garden is a retired Surinamese footballer who played as a defender for SV Robinhood in the Hoofdklasse, and for the Suriname national team. Together with Remie Olmberg, he formed the heart of the defense for both Robinhood and for the national team. He played for over a decade during one of the clubs most successful periods, having won six national titles and finishing as runners-up in the CONCACAF Champions Cup on three occasions as well. He also won the Surinamese Footballer of the Year award on two occasions.

Sport Vereniging Santos is an association football club from Nieuw Nickerie, Suriname. The club currently compete in the SVB Eerste Klasse, the 2nd tier of football in Suriname, having won the Lidbonden tournament in 2015.

Sportvereniging Coronie Boys is an association football club from Totness, Suriname. Having spent spells in both the Hoofdklasse and Eerste Klasse, the club currently compete in the lower divisions of Surinamese football.

SVB Lidbondentoernooi

The Lidbondentoernooi is an annual football tournament organized by the Surinamese Football Association (SVB) since 2006. It is also known as the SURIBET Lidbondentoernooi due to sponsorship. The tournament is contested by the winners and runners-up of the districts leagues from the 20 regional member associations of the SVB. The winner and runner-up of the tournament can then qualify for the SVB Eerste Klasse, the 2nd tier of football in Suriname.

The 2016–17 Telesur Topklasse is the 84th season of top tier Suriname football league and 1st season of the Topklasse, the highest football league competition of Suriname. The season began in November 2016, and ended in June 2017. Telesur became official broadcaster and sponsor of the Topklasse before the start of this season.

The 2017–18 Telesur Topklasse is the 85th season of top tier Suriname football league and 2nd season of the Topklasse, the highest football league competition of Suriname. The season began on 20 October 2017 and ended on 24 June 2018.

The 2017–18 SVB Cup was the 27th season of the Surinamese Cup. The competition began on 6 January and ended on 30 June 2018.
