The East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) is a sub-organ of the larger East African Community,being the legislative arm of the Community. Members are sworn into five-year terms.

Anita Annet Among is a Ugandan accountant,lawyer and politician who is the Speaker of the 11th Parliament of Uganda since 2022. She also concurrently serves as the elected member of parliament for the Bukedea District Women Constituency,the same position she held in the 10th Parliament (2016–2021). She was in FDC party before she joined the ruling NRM where she was voted as the Deputy Speaker of the 10th Parliament. She is named in the torture complaint against the Ugandan government that was submitted with the International Criminal Court.
Achiro Lucy Otim, commonly referred to as Lucy Achiro Otim is a female Ugandan politician and a Gender Specialist. She is the district woman representative for Aruu North County consistency,Pader district in the 10th Parliament. Achiro belongs to an independent political party at the Parliament of Uganda. She won the parliamentary seat running as an independent candidate in 2016. Her tenure as member of parliament was cut short when the Ugandan supreme court nullified her election for non-compliance with electoral laws because the electoral commission failed to carry out a vote recount after she had won with a two vote margin,beating James Nabinson Kidega of the National Resistance Movement (NRM). However,she returned as member of parliament after being re-elected Aruu north member of parliament in the April 2017 election by again beating Kidega,this time 64 percent to 32 percent.
Wanjiku Muhia is a Kenyan politician and Current Member of Parliament for Kipipiri Constituency,and The Chairperson of Regional Integration Committee;Served as Regional Member of Parliament in the 4th East African Legislative Assembly(EALA) (2018-2022);and the First Nyandarua County Women Representative (2013-2017).

He previously served as the 6th Secretary-General of the EAC from 27 February 2021 to June 7 2024,an MP in the East African Legislative Assembly between 2012 and 2017,and the CEO of the East African Business Council from 2018 to 2021.
Busingye Peninah Kabingani is a Ugandan politician and legislator. She represents the Elderly of Uganda's central region as MP in the parliament of Uganda. She is a member of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) on whose ticket she was voted into parliament in the 2021 Uganda general elections.
Agnes Kirabo is a Ugandan politician and legislator. She is the youth member of parliament representing Uganda's central region in the parliament of Uganda.
Fatuma Ndangiza is a women's rights advocate,policy expert,and politician. As of January 2024,she is serving her second term as a Rwandan member of the East African Legislative Assembly. Born and raised in a refugee camp in Uganda,she returned to Rwanda during the civil war. Initially she settled in Byumba and led the SOS Ramira initiative to assist women and children in acquiring basic supplies and treatment to meet their needs. When the Rwandan Patriotic Front took control of Kigali,she moved to the capital and began working in the Ministry for Women and Family Promotion to provide support and relief to survivors and victims of the Rwandan genocide. She helped to create the National Women's Council and its regional and local frameworks to empower women to help them achieve political and economic parity through legal change and advocacy. She worked with the women's ministry until 2002.
Oda Gasinzigwa is a Rwandan civil servant and politician. Born in Tanzania as a refugee,she was educated at the Institute of Development Management in Mzumbe and then worked for eight years at the National Bank of Commerce in Dar es Salaam. When the Rwandan genocide ended in 1994,she moved to Kigali and worked with various ministries to improve women's economic and leadership.
Sarah AgutiNyangkori is a Ugandan social worker and legislator. She is a woman MP in the eleventh parliament representing Dokolo district affiliated to Uganda People's Congress.
Ekwau Ibi Florence is a Ugandan politician and legislator. She is the woman MP for Kaberamaido district in the eleventh parliament under FDC political party.
