Swedex: Swedish Examinations is a test for proficiency in the Swedish language, [1] recognized by the Swedish Institute.

It is offered on the levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages A2, B1 and B2.

Tests can be taken in 28 countries (Europe, Asia, North America, South America and Africa). [2]

Swedex is a European Union project within the Socrates programme.

The Japanese-Language Proficiency Test, or JLPT, is a standardized criterion-referenced test to evaluate and certify Japanese language proficiency for non-native speakers, covering language knowledge, reading ability, and listening ability. DIALANG is an online diagnostic system designed to assess a person's proficiency in 14 European languages. Competences tested are reading, writing, listening, grammar and vocabulary, while speaking is excluded for technical reasons.

The Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language is the Republic of China (Taiwan)'s standardized test of proficiency in ROC Standard Chinese for non-native speakers such as foreign students. It is administered by the Steering Committee for the Test Of Proficiency-Huayu (SC-TOP). The committee is under the direction of Taiwan's Ministry of Education. The test was formerly known as the TOP or Test Of Proficiency-Huayu.

The Interagency Language Roundtable scale is a set of descriptions of abilities to communicate in a language. It is the standard grading scale for language proficiency in the United States's Federal-level service. The EF English Proficiency Index attempts to rank countries by the equity of English language skills amongst those adults who took the EF test. It is the product of EF Education First, an international education company, and draws its conclusions from data collected via English tests available for free over the internet. The index is an online survey first published in 2011 based on test data from 1.7 million test takers. The most recent edition was released in November 2023.

The Bergenstest, also known as Test i norsk - høyere nivå, was a test for proficiency in the Norwegian language, with variants available for both bokmål and nynorsk. It was discontinued in October 2022 and replaced by the Norwegian test. The test was nationally approved and was a pre-requisite for non-native speakers who wish to study at a tertiary education institute in Norway. Citizens who have Swedish or Danish as their native language were not required to undertake this test as proof of Norwegian language competence. It was a pass/fail test with written and oral sections which were intended to be passed by someone with an advanced grasp of the language, equivalent to a B2/C1 reference level under the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. The test could be taken several times a year at various educational institutes around the country, and also twice a year abroad in April and October. Those who passed the test can apply to study at a Norwegian university or college for courses taught in Norwegian. It is furthermore the highest language test available for the language.

The Michigan English Test (MET) is a multilevel, modular English language examination, which measures English language proficiency in personal, public, occupational and educational contexts. It is developed by CaMLA, a not-for-profit collaboration between the University of Michigan and the University of Cambridge and has been in use since 2008.

The Examination for the Certificate in Proficiency in English (ECPE) is an advanced level English language qualification that focuses on Level C2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

The Korean Language Ability Test, (Korean: 세계한국말인증시험) or KLAT, is a proficiency test for non-native speakers of Korean language. It is offered by the Korean Language Society and is a major alternative to Test of Proficiency in Korean, offered by the Korea Institute for Curriculum and Evaluation (KICE).
