Sycamore is an unincorporated community in Wise County, Texas, United States. [1] The community is located northeast of Decatur, and south of Greenwood and Slidell
The site was named for the local Sycamore trees in the area, with the first settlers arriving in the late 19th-century. Initially Sycamore contained general stores, churches, a blacksmith and a cotton gin. [2] The post office was established on August 17, 1894, with David S. Cox being the first postmaster. The town declined by the 1920s, with most businesses moving to nearby Decatur. [3]

Decatur Heights is a historic community located in the northeast corner of the Atlanta, Georgia suburb of Decatur. It includes residences, churches and a nature preserve. During much of the 20th Century, this community primarily consisted modest homes. However, in the 1990s it became a neighborhood where “tear downs” were increasingly common. This has resulted in the demolition of the modest cottages the community was historically known for.
