Szałamaje [ʂawaˈmajɛ] (German : Schalamai) is a settlement in the administrative district of Gmina Czersk, within Chojnice County, Pomeranian Voivodeship, in northern Poland. [1] It lies approximately 9 kilometres (6 mi) north-east of Czersk, 38 km (24 mi) north-east of Chojnice, and 69 km (43 mi) south-west of the regional capital Gdańsk.

Szałamaje boasts its own self-named railway station; a PSR (Polish State Railways - PKP in Polish) station. [2] The station serves both passenger and freight trains. Its start station being Nowa Wieś Wielka and end station Gdynia Port Centralny. [3]
Polskie Koleje Państwowe SA is the dominant railway operator in Poland. The company was founded when the former Polskie Koleje Państwowe state-owned operator was divided into several units based on the requirements laid down by the European Union. PKP SA is the dominant company in PKP Group collective that resulted from the split, and maintains in 100% share control, being fully responsible for management of all of the other PKP Group component companies. The group's organisations are dependent upon PKP SA, but proposals for privatisation have been made.
