TNN, previously branded as TNN24 or TNN16, is a Thai satellite, cable and digital terrestrial 24-hours news channel owned by True Corporation, presents news, documentaries and sport news. TNN has a sister channel called TNN 2.

History

Earlier History

TNN24 was founded as IBC News on 17 May 1989. It was the one of the first seven channels broadcasting on IBC satellite television platform on channel number 1.

After IBC reached an agreement to found a joint venture with the UTV Cable Network and found UBC, IBC News has rebranded to UBC News and continue to broadcast on UBC channel 7.

In 2006, the channel has branded to True News 24 as the network was rebranding to TrueVisions in 2007.

TNN

In 2009, UBC News has rebranded to TNN and split into two channels. TNN24 became a 24-hour news channel and TNN 2 now broadcasts in-depth news and documentaries. [1]

TNN24 has an officially launched on 9 September 2009 on TrueVisions channel number 7.

In 2010, TNN24 has launched its free-to-air service on Thaicom 5 both Ku band and C band and also launch its channel on other subscription television provider, PSI and DTV.

On 1 March 2012, TNN24 started to air its high-definition channel on TrueVisions cable TV service on channel number 124 and expanded to broadcast on satellite service after that.

In April 2014, TNN24 started to broadcast on digital terrestrial television on channel number 16 after it was awarded a digital TV license in December 2013. [2]

The channel has the same channel number on every platform referring to the Must-carry rule provided by National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) but was still broadcast on TrueVisions channel number 7 until the NBTC has an order to force TrueVisions to move the channel to number 16 in 2016. In February 2019 , TNN24 has rebranded name to TNN16 and additional channels simulcast on True4U (similar to Sky TG24 simulcast on Cielo in Italy and Now News Channel simulcast on Viu TV in Hong Kong.)

MCOT Public Company Limited, formerly known as the Mass Communication Organization of Thailand, is a Thai state-owned public broadcaster. It owns and operates a number of radio and television stations in Thailand. It is based in Bangkok. At present, MCOT runs seven national, one international, 52 provincial, one district radio station, two television channels, and 2 satellite television channels.(until 2017) Their motto is "Always Serving the Public". On their website MCOT uses the slogan "Digitally beyond".

DWNB-TV Television station in Metro Manila

DWNB-TV, channel 41, is the flagship television property of Nation Broadcasting Corporation and is the flagship station of the Philippine television network One Sports. The station is operated and co-owned by TV5 Network, Inc. Its main broadcast facilities are located at the TV5 Media Center, Reliance cor. Sheridan Sts., Mandaluyong, while the station's alternate studios and digital transmitter is located at TV5 Complex, 762 Quirino Highway, Brgy. San Bartolome, Novaliches, Quezon City, and its analog and digital transmitter is located on Block 3, Emerald Hills, Sumulong Highway, Antipolo, province of Rizal.

TrueVisions is a cable and satellite television operator in Thailand. TrueVisions is owned by the True Corporation. Until February 2007, it was called the United Broadcasting Corporation (UBC), or UBC-True.

Great! Movies is a British free-to-air television channel owned by Narrative Entertainment UK Limited that broadcasts across the UK and Ireland showing films and related content. The channel is transmitted on all the major broadcast platforms in the UK - terrestrial, satellite and cable. The channel is only broadcast in standard-definition.

True Sport Thai suite of TV channels

True Sport is a Thai group of sport channels operated by cable and satellite pay-TV provider TrueVisions. True Sport channels are available exclusively on TrueVisions. The number of channels are depends on the package.

Aksyon TV was a Philippine free-to-air television network. It was a joint venture of Nation Broadcasting Corporation and TV5 Network, Inc., both under PLDT media arm MediaQuest Holdings. Its programs were primarily produced by TV5's divisions News5 and ESPN5. AksyonTV formerly broadcasts terrestrially through DWNB-TV in Metro Manila, as well as on UHF channel 29 in Cebu, Davao and other relay stations, and on a digital subchannel via channel 5.2 in Metro Manila. True Spark is a 24-hours TV station for Kids provided by TrueVisions. It broadcast cartoons that come from Japan, USA and Europe. It broadcasts on Channel 444 (Digital) and Channel 28 (Analog).

Spring News is a Thai Television news channel owned by Spring News Television Ltd. part of News Network Corporation PCL.

True4U is a Thai digital terrestrial television channel owned by True4U Station Company Limited, a subsidiary of True Corporation. It was broadcasting news, entertainment and sport programs. True4U is broadcasting on Thailand digital television platform on channel 24.

Nation TV (Thailand)

Nation TV is the first 24-hour news television channel in Thailand, owned by Nation Broadcasting Corporation, a subsidiary of Nation Multimedia Group.
