Takshashila University is a state private university established under the Tamil Nadu state private university act 2019, [1] regulated under the UGC (Establishment and Maintenance of Standards in Private Universities). [2] The university is located in Ongur, Tindivanam (Villupuram district), Tamil Nadu, India. Entrepreneurship Workshop
The Entrepreneurship Club at Takshashila University organized a session on holistic well-being on October 12, 2023. [8] The event focused on promoting a healthy lifestyle through simple and natural methods.
Students and faculty members attended the session to learn about practical health tips and the benefits of natural remedies. The event encouraged a positive approach to wellness and received positive feedback from participants. The Entrepreneurship Club's commitment to fostering a culture of wellness and knowledge-sharing within the university community was evident through this successful session.
On December 1, in observance of World AIDS Day, students from Takshashila University engaged in an awareness rally and skit performance in Tindivanam. [9] The rally commenced at 11:00 a.m. from Theerthakulam, with the Honorable Vice Chancellor, Dr. (Prof) Vivek Inder Kochhar, and the Registrar, Dr. (Prof) S. Senthil, officiating the event. Participants promoted HIV and AIDS prevention and control, concluding their march at the Tindivanam Gingee Bus Stand.
The event continued with a stage program that featured a skit, overseen by Chief Guest Mrs. R. Kalaiselvi, which addressed themes of patient safety and public health. The skit received favorable feedback and underscored the importance of behavior change concerning HIV/AIDS. Recognition was also given to students from the Bachelor of Physiotherapy, Allied Health Sciences, and Bachelor of Pharmacy programs for their contributions.
The event highlighted the support from the university's administration and aimed to enhance awareness and foster a positive impact in healthcare.
Takshashila University organized a guest lecture on 24 January 2024, [10] focusing on the topic of Menstrual Hygiene. The lecture was conducted by Dr. S. Santhakumari, the Chief Medical Officer of Tindivanam Government Hospital.
Dr. Santhakumari provided valuable insights into menstrual hygiene, addressing issues such as irregular periods, PCOD and PCOS, and menstrual cramps. She also highlighted the importance of menstrual cups and their benefits, while briefly explaining the menstrual cycle and its physiology.
The management of Takshashila University, including the Honorable Pro-Chancellor, Honorable Vice-Chancellor, Honorable Registrar, and Respected Deans, welcomed and honored the chief guest. All female students at Takshashila University participated in this informative program, which was organized by the School of Physiotherapy, AHS, and Pharmacy.
Takshashila University recently held a celebration to commemorate Voters Day on January 25, 2024. [11] The event aimed to raise awareness among university students about the importance of voting and civic engagement.
Mr. Periyasami, a distinguished Agricultural Officer from the Villupuram Collectorate, was the keynote speaker. He emphasized the significance of active participation in the democratic process and provided information about the procedures of forms 6 and 8, empowering students to effectively participate in elections.
The day's festivities also included a special felicitation ceremony to honor the Honorable Pro-Chancellor, Honorable Vice Chancellor, Honorable Registrar, Respected Deans, and esteemed faculty members for their contributions to the university community.
On February 5, 2024, the Innopreneur Club organized a discussion on the Interim Budget 2024, [12] engaging students from various departments, including B.Com, BBA, MBA, and MSW. The event was attended by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Deans, and faculty members.
The discussion addressed a range of topics related to the budget, such as personal income tax slabs, fiscal deficit, revenue deficit, Balance of Payment problems, and national debt. Students participated actively, raising questions and contributing to the dialogue. The Budget 2024 discussion provided a platform for students to gain insights into the nation's financial policies and their implications.
Guest Lecture on IT Filing
On March 12, 2024, the Innopreneur Club at Takshashila University organized a guest lecture on IT filing. [13] Dr. Vigneshwaran from the Pondicherry CMA Chapter served as the Chief Guest, sharing insights on the IT filing process, its necessity, and associated benefits.
The event was attended by various dignitaries, including the Dean of Academic Affairs, the Dean of the Faculty of Sciences, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, as well as the Innopreneur Club coordinator and faculty members. Dr. Vigneshwaran's presentation emphasized the significance of IT filing in today's digital age and provided informative insights into relevant regulations. The Takshashila University community expressed appreciation to Dr. Vigneshwaran for his expertise on this important topic.
