Tangerang is a district of Tangerang City, Banten, Indonesia.
Banten is the westernmost province on the island of Java, in Indonesia. Its provincial capital city is Serang. The province borders West Java and the Special Capital Region of Jakarta to the east, the Java Sea to the north, the Indian Ocean to the south, and the Sunda Strait to the west, which separates Java from the neighbouring island of Sumatra. The area of the province is 9,662.82 km2, and it had a population of over 11.9 million at the 2020 Census, up from over 10.6 million during the 2010 census. Formerly part of the province of West Java, Banten became a separate province in 2000. The province is a transit corridor to the neighbouring Indonesian island of Sumatra. The Banten region is the homeland of the Sundanese Banten people and has historically had a slightly different culture from the Sundanese people in the West Java region. In recent years, the northern half, particularly those areas near Jakarta and the Java Sea coast, have experienced rapid rises in population and urbanization, while the southern half, particularly that facing the Indian Ocean, maintains a more traditional character.
The Jakarta metropolitan area, or Greater Jakarta known locally as Jabodetabek, Jabodetabekjur, or Jabodetabekpunjur, is the most populous metropolitan area in Indonesia. It includes the national capital Jakarta as the core city as well as five satellite cities and four regencies. The original term "Jabotabek" dated from the late 1970s and was revised to "Jabodetabek" in 1999 when "De" was inserted into the name following its formation. The term "Jabodetabekjur" or "Jabodetabekpunjur" was legalised on the Presidential Regulation Number 54 of 2008, although the name Jabodetabek is more commonly used.
Tangerang is a city in the province of Banten, Indonesia. Located on the western border of Jakarta, it is the third largest urban centre in the Greater Jakarta metropolitan area after Jakarta and Bekasi; the sixth largest city proper in the nation; and the largest city in Banten province. It has an area of 164.55 square kilometres and an official 2010 Census population of 1,798,601, which had risen to 1,895,486 at the 2020 Census. – making it the eighth most populated suburb in the world at the latter date. It has not only functioned as a dormitory city, as there are many industrial areas such as Jatake, and several business districts, including CBD Alam Sutera in the area. Located just next to Jakarta on the west with many road access and improved infrastructure, such as new toll road, it is one of the most favorite location for property seekers and investors in the Bodetabek area.
Persatuan Sepak Bola Indonesia Kota Tangerang, or Persikota Tangerang, is an Indonesian football club based in Tangerang, founded in 1994. The team plays in the third division of Indonesian football, Liga 3. Their home stadium is Benteng Stadium.
Cengkareng is a district (kecamatan) on West Jakarta, Indonesia. The Duri-Tangerang and Tangerang-Jakarta railways pass through Cengkareng.
Tangerang Regency is a regency of Banten province, Indonesia. It is located on the island of Java. The current regent is Ahmed Zaki Iskandar. Though commonly misunderstood as being a part of Jakarta, Tangerang is actually outside Jakarta City but is part of Greater Jakarta. Since 1993, the Regency has lost territory as first Tangerang city was split off on 27 February 1993 and subsequently South Tangerang city was split off on 29 October 2008. The residual Regency now has an area of 959.61 km² and a population of 2,834,376 at the 2010 Census, growing to 3,245,619 at the 2020 Census. Tigaraksa is the regency seat.
Persita Tangerang officially the Persatuan Sepakbola Indonesia Tangerang, is an Indonesian football club based in Tangerang, Indonesia. They will compete in the Liga 1 for season 2020. Their nickname is Pendekar Cisadane and Ayam Wareng. Persita Tangerang is Runner up Liga 2 season 2019.
Pondok Cabe Airport is a mixed civilian and military airport in the Pondok Cabe, Pamulang, South Tangerang. The airport is owned by the state oil company Pertamina and operated by Pelita Air Service, which also owned Indopelita Aircraft Services that has a maintenance hangar at this airport. Currently, Pondok Cabe does not handle regular airline traffic. Other than serving as the Maintenance, repair and overhaul base for Pelita Air Service, the airport is also the home of the Aviation Wing of the Indonesian National Police, CASA 212 equipped-Skadron Udara 21/Serba Guna of the Indonesian Army and Naval Aviation (Puspenerbal) of Indonesian Navy, as well as Portela Jaya Light-sport aircraft hangar.
South Tangerang is a city in the province of Banten, Indonesia. Located 30 km (19 mi) on the southwestern border of Jakarta, the city forms part of the Greater Jakarta metropolitan area. It was administratively separated from Tangerang Regency on October 29, 2008. According to the 2020 Census, the city population was 1,354,350 inhabitants. The total area is 147.19 km2 (56.83 sq mi). It's second-largest city in Banten in terms of population, and has grown rapidly, not only as Jakarta's satellite city, but also the development of business districts and commerce due to presence of large-scale planned town by private developers.

Duri Station is a railway station located in West Jakarta. It serves as the starting point and the eastern terminus of the Brown Line service. The station is a major transfer point for commuters to or from Tangerang. When the Jakarta Kota-Manggarai railway is disrupted, trains between Jakarta Kota and Manggarai are rerouted via Duri.
Tangerang Station is a railway station located in the city of Tangerang, Banten. It is the western terminus of the Duri–Tangerang railway. This station only serves commuter trains operated by Kereta Commuter Indonesia. Passengers are mainly commuters going from the suburbs in Tangerang to Jakarta.
KA Commuter line Duri–Tangerang, or the Tangerang line, is a commuter rail line in Indonesia, operated by PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia (KCI). The line operate on the Duri–Tangerang segment, which connects Duri station in West Jakarta and Tangerang station in Tangerang City, Banten. On maps and diagrams, the line is shown using the colour "brown".

Jurangmangu Station (JMG) is a class III railway station located in Sawah Lama, Ciputat, South Tangerang. The station is located at the elevation of +25 metres above sea level, is included in the Operation Area I Jakarta. Even though it is called Jurangmangu, this station is not located in Jurangmangu Village, Pondok Aren District, but is located in the south of Jurangmangu village itself.
Bantenese language, Western Sundanese language or Western Sundanese dialect is a dialect of Sundanese language spoken by the Bantenese and Sundanese native to Banten and the western side of Bogor Regency. The western Bogor area comprises the Jasinga Raya region, which covers Jasinga, Cigudeg, Tenjo, Nanggung, Parungpanjang, Sukajaya districts and also the northwestern parts of Sukabumi Regency. The Bantenese language is the lingua franca of the Kasepuhan Ciptagelar traditional community in Cisolok subdistrict, and the Kasepuhan Banten Kidul traditional community.
Poris Station (PI) is a class III railway station located in Poris Gaga, Batuceper, Tangerang. The station, which is located at an altitude of +7 meters, is included in the Jakarta Operational Area I, is the easternmost train station in Tangerang, and only serves the KRL Commuterline route.
