Tawanda Sean Muyeye (born 5 March 2001) is a Zimbabwean professional cricketer who plays for Kent County Cricket Club in England. He is a right-handed batsman and right-arm off break bowler. [2]
Muyeye was born in Zimbabwe and grew up close to Harare. [3] [4] He was educated at Peterhouse Boys' School in Mashonaland East Province [5] [6] and captained the Zimbabwe national side at under-13 and under-16 level,as well as playing rugby union for the national under-14 side,before earning a scholarship to Eastbourne College in England. [6] Muyeye was named as a reserve in the Zimbabwean squad for the 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup at the age of 15. [3] [6] [7]
An asylum seeker who came to the UK with his mother,a supporter of the opposition Movement for Democratic Change,Muyeye was granted indefinite leave to remain and settled in the UK. [8] He has expressed an ambition to play international cricket for England. [8]
At Eastbourne he was coached by former professionals Rob Ferley,James Tredwell and Andy Hodd and scored 1,112 runs and hit 56 sixes in his first season,both records for the school. [9] His batting performances for Eastbourne,including two double hundreds,led him to being named the 2019 Young Wisden Schools Cricketer of the Year. [10] [11] [12]
While at Eastbourne,Muyeye played for Sussex's under-17 and second XI sides, [13] but signed his first professional contract with Kent in March 2021,qualifying as a domestic player after his time at Eastbourne. [14] He made his first-class cricket debut for Kent on 13 May 2021,in the 2021 County Championship against Sussex at Hove [15] [16] and his List A debut later the same season in the 2021 Royal London One-Day Cup. [17] He made his Twenty20 debut on 7 June 2022 in the 2022 T20 Blast. [18]
In January 2023,Muyeye signed a new three-year contract with Kent. [19] He made his maiden first-class century in June 2023,scoring 179 as part of a 318-run partnership with Daniel Bell-Drummond for Kent against Northants. [20] [21] The following season he scored his maiden double century,making 211 runs against Worcestershire at New Road in August 2024. [22]
In July 2023,Muyeye was selected as a wildcard player by The Hundred team Oval Invincibles. [23] [24] He was retained for the 2024 season, [25] and in January 2025 joined Australian Big Bash League side Melbourne Renegades for the remainder of the 2024–25 season,replacing Laurie Evans as an overseas player. Muyeye had been playing grade cricket in Perth during the 2024–25 Australian season. [26] [27]
Kent County Cricket Club is one of the eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Kent. A club representing the county was first founded in 1842 but Kent teams have played top-class cricket since the early 18th century,and the club has always held first-class status. The current Kent County Cricket Club was formed on 6 December 1870 following the merger of two representative teams. Kent have competed in the County Championship since the official start of the competition in 1890 and have played in every top-level domestic cricket competition in England. The club's limited overs team is called the Kent Spitfires after the Supermarine Spitfire.
Bransby Beauchamp Cooper was a member of the Australian cricket team that played the inaugural Test match at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in 1877. Cooper was born in Dacca in what was then British India in 1844. He played first-class cricket as an amateur in England for Middlesex and Kent County Cricket Clubs before moving to Australia where he played for Victoria cricket team. He was a right hand batsman and wicket-keeper and the first Indian-born cricketer to play Test cricket.
John Neil Shepherd is a Barbadian former cricketer who played in five Test matches for the West Indies cricket team between 1969 and 1971. Shepherd had a long career in English county cricket for Kent County Cricket Club and Gloucestershire County Cricket Club. He was born in Belleplaine,St Andrew in Barbados and played for the Barbados cricket team in his early career.
The Zimbabwe national cricket team toured South Africa in October and November 1999 and played one Test match against the South Africa national cricket team. They also competed in the 2000 Standard Bank Triangular Tournament in January and February,playing six One Day International (ODI) matches against South Africa and England. This was the first time that Zimbabwe had toured to South Africa,although sides from both Zimbabwe and Rhodesia had played in South Africa as part of South African domestic cricket.

The Wisden Schools Cricketer of the Year is a cricketer selected for the honour by the annual publication Wisden Cricketers' Almanack. The decision is based upon "his or her performances in school's cricket,as reported in Wisden". Wisden has included details of schools cricket as far back as its second edition in 1865,when it carried an account of the match between Eton College and Harrow School. In 1918 and 1919,as no first-class cricket was being played due to the First World War,the five Wisden Cricketers of the Year were chosen from public schools. The first Young Wisden Cricketer of the Year was named in 2008,in the 144th edition of Wisden Cricketers' Almanack,in an effort to "help raise the profile of schools cricket,especially at state schools." The first winner was Jonny Bairstow of St Peter's School,York.
Daniel James Bell-Drummond is an English professional cricketer,who plays for Kent County Cricket Club. He has represented England at youth level and has played for the England Lions cricket team at senior level.
Thomas William Maxwell Latham is a New Zealand international cricketer who is the Test captain of New Zealand cricket team. He is the son of former cricketer Rod Latham. He has the most Test centuries for New Zealand opening batsmen. Latham was a member of the New Zealand team that won the 2019–2021 ICC World Test Championship. He was also a part of the New Zealand squads to finish as runners-up in two Cricket World Cup finals in 2015 and 2019.

Richard Geoffrey Harvey Lowe was an English amateur sportsman who played first-class cricket and association football for Cambridge University during the 1920s.
