Taylorsville is an unincorporated community in Highland County, in the U.S. state of Ohio. [1]
Taylorsville was laid out in 1846, and named after the local Taylor family. [2] A post office called New Corwin was established in 1849, the name was changed to Taylorsville in 1897, and the post office closed in 1935. [3]
On May 8, 1961, an F1 tornado struck Taylorsville. It was seen by the Mt. Orab Chief of Police. Along with White Oak and Bethel, the tornado also hit Shiloh and Gath. Trees and roofs were damaged, including one roof that was completely ripped off a house in Mt. Orab. Losses totaled $2,500. [4]
