Telipna sanguinea is a butterfly in the family Lycaenidae. It is found in Nigeria, Cameroon, the Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Angola, the Central African Republic, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Uganda and Tanzania. [2] Their habitat consists of forests.[ citation needed ]

Adults are similar to day-flying moths of the genus Aletis .[ citation needed ] They are on wing during the rainy season.[ citation needed ]

The larvae feed on lichens growing on the bark of tree trunks.[ citation needed ]
