The Best & the Rest is a greatest hits compilation by Polish singer Kayah, released in 2005 by Sony BMG Music Entertainment Poland.
The retrospective collects all of Kayah's biggest hits on disc 1, including a new song, "Jutro rano", and re-recordings of "Na językach" and her debut 1988 single "Córeczko". Disc 2 consists mainly of songs recorded for various projects, previously not available on any Kayah album, and remixes. The Best & the Rest was the singer's final album released under contract with Sony BMG. "Jutro rano" was released as a single and became a radio hit in Poland. The album debuted atop Polish album sales chart and held the position for three consecutive weeks. It was certified gold in Poland.

Katarzyna Magdalena Rooijens, professionally known as Kayah, is a Polish singer-songwriter performing a variety of music genres, including pop, soul, jazz, world and dance. She has also experimented with disco, funk, electronica as well as Balkan and Jewish music.
Andrzej Smolik is a Polish musician, composer, music producer, and multi-instrumentalist. He began his career as a keyboard player in the band Wilki in 1993. Later he collaborated with Wilki's vocalist, Robert Gawliński on the production of his solo album Solo. In 1996 and 1997 Smolik worked with the group Hey. He also collaborated with Hey's vocalist Kasia Nosowska on her solo album Milena in 1998. In following years he continued to work with Nosowska and Gawliński on their subsequent solo projects. He also worked with DJ Novika and with the group Myslovitz, and Artur Rojek, Mika Urbaniak, Krzysztof Krawczyk. Smolik won the national "Fryderyk" award for composers in 2003 and 2004. And in 2004 he won a 'Polityka's Passport Award' from one of the biggest opinion-forming newsmagazines in Poland - Polityka ("Politics"). His solo albums are Smolik (2001), Smolik 2 (2003), 3 (2006) and "4" (2010).

Anna Wyszkoni is a Polish pop rock singer, composer and songwriter, performing under the diminutive Ania Wyszkoni. Between 1996 and 2010, she was the lead singer in a popular Polish pop rock band Łzy, with whom she released six albums, four of which gold- or platinum-certified, and had multiple hits, such as "Agnieszka już dawno...", "Narcyz się nazywam", "Jestem jaka jestem" and "Oczy szeroko zamknięte", among others. Wyszkoni embarked on a solo career in 2008 and went on to release four albums, two double platinum and one gold. Kuba Grabowski, better known by his stage name Quebonafide, is a Polish rapper, singer and songwriter. Member of the duos Yochimu and Taconafide. Founder of the record label QueQuality. With over 350 thousand albums sold, he is one of Poland's best-selling rappers. His biggest success thus far - the Soma 0.5 mg album, recorded with the rapper Taco Hemingway - has sold more than 150 thousand copies. Also his solo album Egzotyka proved successful, selling over 150 thousand copies. His albums have repeatedly won the status of platinum, gold and diamond records. The rapper has authored such hits as 'Candy', 'Bubbletea' or 'Tamagotchi'. Five-time nominee for the Fryderyk award, with one victory for Soma 0,5 mg in the Hip-Hop Album of the Year category. In 2018, his album Egzotyka was nominated for Empik Bestseller award in the Polish Music category.
