The Complete Albums Collection is a compilation box set album collection by English heavy metal band Judas Priest, released on 12 June 2012 by Legacy Recordings. The Complete Albums Collection contains 17 Judas Priest albums, (excluding the Tim "Ripper" Owens era). [4] [5]

Heavy metal is a genre of rock music that developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s, largely in the United Kingdom. With roots in blues rock, psychedelic rock, and acid rock, the bands that created heavy metal developed a thick, massive sound, characterized by highly amplified distortion, extended guitar solos, emphatic beats, and overall loudness. The genre's lyrics and performance styles are sometimes associated with aggression and machismo.

Judas Priest British heavy metal band

Judas Priest are an English heavy metal band formed in West Bromwich in 1969. The band has sold over 50 million copies of their albums to date. They are frequently ranked as one of the greatest metal bands of all time. Despite an innovative and pioneering body of work in the latter half of the 1970s, the band struggled with indifferent record production and lack of major commercial success or attention until 1980, when they adopted a more simplified sound on the album British Steel, which helped shoot them to rock superstar status.

Legacy Recordings US record label; imprint of Sony Music Entertainment

Legacy Recordings is an American record label that is a division of Sony Music. Formed in 1990 after Sony's acquisition of CBS Records, Legacy originally handled the archives of Sony Music-owned labels Columbia Records and Epic Records. In 2004, under the Sony BMG joint venture, the label began to manage the archives of RCA Records, J Records, Windham Hill Records, Arista, LaFace, Jive, and Buddah Records. Legacy Recordings now also handles Philadelphia International Records and the catalog of recordings produced by Phil Spector.

Remastered tracks

Each individual album is packaged in a replica mini-LP sleeve reproducing that album's original cover art. The set also contains a 40-page booklet with photos, liner notes, and album credits. Rocka Rolla and Sad Wings of Destiny have been newly remastered by Vic Anesini, with the latter album featuring a corrected track order beginning with "Prelude" and ending with "Deceiver", as indicated on the packaging of the original release. [6] Albums from Sin After Sin through Painkiller utilize the 2001 remasters and feature the same bonus tracks, while Angel of Retribution through A Touch of Evil: Live are identical to their original releases.

<i>Sin After Sin</i> 1977 studio album by Judas Priest

Sin After Sin is the third studio album by English heavy metal band Judas Priest, released in 1977. It was remastered in 2001 with two bonus tracks added. According to guitarist K.K. Downing the album title was possibly inspired from a lyric in the Judas Priest-song "Genocide".

Dayal Patterson of Record Collector wrote "Each album is presented here in a sturdy slipcase adorned with the original LP artwork, and there’s certainly no questioning the quality of the music – indeed, the majority of the albums here are considered vital entries in the heavy metal canon, with even the few weaker releases bearing some winning numbers. That said, the “complete” part of the box set’s title is somewhat misleading: there’s no sign of Jugulator or Demolition, the two albums made during Halford’s absence from the group, not to mention the brevity of the booklet, which omits both lyrics and colour. Still, it will certainly look much nicer on your shelf than 17 jewel cases..." [3] Mary Ouelette of Loudwire stated "All in all, it's a great way for any fan to celebrate the music and the notable career of Judas Priest." "Victim of Changes" is a song by British heavy metal band Judas Priest, featured on their 1976 studio album Sad Wings of Destiny. Adrien Begrand, writing for PopMatters, claimed the song changed the course of metal history. Vocalist Rob Halford's performance is considered one of his finest ever, the guitar work is noted as well, Bob Gendron praising the song's "landslide riffs" in the Chicago Tribune. The song has come to be regarded as one of the band's classics, and Martin Popoff listed it at No. 17 in his "Top 500 Heavy Metal Songs of All Time".

"Judas Rising" is a song by heavy metal band Judas Priest. It is the opening track on the band's 2005 album Angel of Retribution. The song is about the Judas Priest Messiah on the cover of the albums Sad Wings of Destiny, Painkiller and Angel of Retribution.. It was also included on the album's The Essential Judas Priest and A Touch of Evil: Live. According to former guitarist K.K. Downing the origins of the song existed already in the 80's but were first finished for the Angel of Retribution album.

"Run of the Mill" is a ballad by British heavy metal band Judas Priest from their debut album Rocka Rolla. The song was the first written by guitarist K. K. Downing, soon after vocalist Rob Halford joined the band. Downing wrote it, in part, to display Halford's unique vocal range.

<i>Firepower</i> (album) 2018 studio album by Judas Priest

Firepower is the eighteenth studio album by British heavy metal band Judas Priest. It is the first studio album since 1988's Ram It Down to be produced by Tom Allom, and the first one with Andy Sneap as co-producer. The album sold around 49,000 copies in the United States within its first week of release, debuting at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 chart, making it the band's highest-charting album in the US. Music videos were made for "Lightning Strike", "Spectre" and "No Surrender". A lyric video was made for "Never the Heroes".
