Judas Priest concert chronology

The Firepower World Tour was a worldwide concert tour by English heavy metal band Judas Priest, in support of the album Firepower . It ran from 13 March 2018 to 29 June 2019.

Background

This tour marked the first time that guitarist Glenn Tipton would not perform on a full-length tour after revealing the news that he had been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease on 12 February 2018 and would step down from touring as the disease's progression left him unable to perform the more challenging material. He stated that he was still a member of Judas Priest despite his diagnosis and would not rule out future on-stage appearances. Producer and guitarist Andy Sneap stepped in to perform in his place for the tour. [1] Guitarist Richie Faulkner assured fans that Tipton would perform with the band again. [2] At the 20 March 2018 show in Newark, Tipton joined the band on stage to perform "Metal Gods", "Breaking the Law" and "Living After Midnight", [3] [4] then "Victim of Changes" [5] and "No Surrender" [6] on later dates. He would continue to appear on tour, performing only the encore songs, but would not perform on certain dates, depending on his health. [7] [8] Tipton did not make anymore appearances on the remaining dates due to his illness, as explained by bassist Ian Hill. [9] After the completion of the world tour, Faulkner thanked fans worldwide for attending their shows, "It's been emotional and amazing to see you all and share in the celebration of heavy metal all around the world. It's been a pleasure and an honour to serve. See ya on the next one RHRF DOTF." [10]

Rob Halford incident

Shortly into the song "Judas Rising" at the 25 May 2019 show in Rosemont, Rob Halford kicked a cell phone out of a fan's hands in frustration as the fan had the phone light on while filming the show, causing difficulty on his performance. [11] Halford explained in a statement soon after that fans are free to capture footage of their shows, "However if you physically interfere with The Metal God's performance you now know what will happen." [12] Uriah Heep vocalist Bernie Shaw stepped in to defend Halford and said that he understood his frustration, but felt that he took it "a little bit too far", and opined that his "space was invaded." He thought that Halford "overreacted — but I can sure understand where it came from." [13]

The 2018 to early 2019 setlist featured material from Firepower, fan favourites and material that was not performed in decades such as "Bloodstone", "Some Heads Are Gonna Roll", "Tyrant", [33] "Night Comes Down", [34] "Delivering the Goods" [35] and "Killing Machine". [36] The song "Saints in Hell" was introduced to the audience which was never performed live. [37] The third North American portion of the tour in 2019 featured an updated stage appearance and a brand new setlist featuring other tracks from Firepower, other various fan favourites, and a few more songs that were not played in decades such as "Out in the Cold", "All Guns Blazing" and "Hot Rockin'". The band introduced another song, "(Take These) Chains", which was also never performed live. [38] [39] [40] [41] [42] [43]

Battle Cry is a live video released by Judas Priest on 25 March 2016 on DVD and on 1 April 2016 on Blu-ray. It was filmed at the Wacken Open Air festival on 1 August 2015 in front of a capacity of 85,000 people. A CD version was also released bundled with the DVD version as well. Both DVD and Blu-ray formats contain three bonus tracks recorded from their 10 December 2015 show at the Ergo Arena in Gdańsk, Poland.

<i>Epitaph</i> (video) 2013 video by Judas Priest

Epitaph is a live video released by Judas Priest on DVD and Blu-Ray on 28 May 2013. It was filmed at the Hammersmith Apollo on 26 May 2012, which was the last date of the Epitaph World Tour, where they performed songs from each Halford-era album from Rocka Rolla to Nostradamus. The show was first seen in cinemas in New York City on 14 May and in London on 15 May with special screenings around the world on 16 May. It then premiered on VH1 Classic in the United States on 25 May.

The World Vengeance Tour was a 1982 concert tour by English heavy metal band Judas Priest where they toured throughout North America from 26 August 1982 until 21 February 1983 in support of the 1982 album Screaming for Vengeance.

The Metal Conqueror Tour was a concert tour by English heavy metal band Judas Priest in support of the album Defenders of the Faith. It ran from 20 January until 13 September 1984.

Firepower is the eighteenth studio album by English heavy metal band Judas Priest. Released in 2018, it was the band's first studio album since 1988's Ram It Down to be produced by Tom Allom and the first one with Andy Sneap as co-producer. The album sold around 49,000 copies in the United States within its first week of release, debuting at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 chart, making it the band's highest-charting album in the US. The album also reached No. 5 in the UK, making it their first top-ten album in the UK since British Steel. Music videos were made for "Lightning Strike", "Spectre" and "No Surrender". A lyric video was made for "Never the Heroes". The record also produced three singles.

Power Trip was a heavy metal music festival held at Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. The festival was held from October 6 to 8, 2023. It featured Metallica, Iron Maiden, Guns N' Roses, Tool, AC/DC, and Judas Priest. Ozzy Osbourne was scheduled to perform on October 7, but canceled his appearance due to health issues. The festival was described as the "sequel to Desert Trip".

<i>Invincible Shield</i> 2024 studio album by Judas Priest

Invincible Shield is the nineteenth studio album by English heavy metal band Judas Priest, released on 6 March 2024 by Sony in Japan, and globally two days later through Columbia and Epic Records. It was produced by the band's touring guitarist Andy Sneap, who also produced 2018's Firepower, while the album's last two tracks were co-produced by Tom Allom.
