The Hits Tour was a concert tour performed by Mexican singer Luis Miguel.

Contents

History

The tour started in Fresno and then participated in the "People in Spanish Festival" in San Antonio. He visited various cities in the United States and Mexico such as Ciudad Juarez, Tijuana, Mexicali, Irvine, Highland and Las Vegas. [1]

He flew to South America for concerts in Argentina (Corrientes, Buenos Aires, Cordoba and Rosario) and Chile (Antofagasta, Santiago, Mostazal and Concepcion). [1]

In 2013, he went to Mexico to make 34 presentations across the country. The cities visited were: Mexico City, Pachuca, Aguascalientes, Guadalajara, Leon, Tampico, Monterrey, Tepic, Chihuahua, Hermosillo, Cualiacan, Acapulco, and Puebla. [1]

In August 2013 he participated in the "North Sea Jazz Festival" in Curacao. In September 2013, he held concerts in the United States in the following cities: El Paso, Las Vegas, Temecula, Tucson, Palm Springs, Reno, Bakersfield, Dallas and Austin. [1]

In November, he continued his tour in Dominican Republic, Peru, Venezuela and returned to four cities in Colombia after 9 years (he last visited that country during the 33 Tour in 2004). [1]

Luis Miguel Gallego Basteri is a Mexican singer and record producer. Born in Puerto Rico to an Italian mother and a Spanish father, he is often referred to as El Sol de Mexico, derived from the nickname his mother gave him as a child: "Mi sol". Luis Miguel has sung in multiple genres and styles, including pop songs, ballads, boleros, tangos, jazz, big band, and mariachi. Amarte Es un Placer is the thirteenth studio album by Mexican singer Luis Miguel. It was released by WEA Latina on 13 September 1999. Produced by Miguel, it is a pop album with R&B and jazz influences. Miguel was more involved with the songwriting on this record than on earlier albums and was assisted by composers including Arturo Pérez, Armando Manzanero, and Juan Carlos Calderón. Despite the popularity of his contemporaries Ricky Martin and Enrique Iglesias who crossed over to the English-language market, Miguel preferred to sing and record in Spanish at the time.

México en la Piel is the sixteenth studio album by Mexican singer Luis Miguel. Released on 9 November 2004 by Warner Music Latina, it is Miguel's first mariachi album. The record contains thirteen mariachi covers, accompanied by the Vargas de Tecalitlán folk ensemble. Armando Manzanero was its musical director, and Miguel its producer. The album was recorded at Ocean Way Recording in Hollywood, California in July 2004. A special edition, México en la Piel: Edición Diamante, was released on 5 September 2005 with two additional songs and a DVD with five music videos. 33 is the fifteenth studio album by Mexican singer Luis Miguel. It was released through Warner Music Latina on 30 September 2003. It is a pop record which contains pop ballads and uptempo disco numbers. The album was produced by Miguel and recorded in Hollywood, California. 33 was promoted by two singles: "Te Necesito" and "Un Te Amo". It was also promoted by a tour which lasted from 2003 to 2004. Several songwriters including Armando Manzanero, Juan Luis Guerra, and Kike Santander contributed to the compositions in the record.

<i>El Concierto</i> Live album by Luis Miguel

El Concierto is the second live album by Mexican recording artist Luis Miguel, released on 17 October 1995 by WEA Latina. It was recorded from his performances at the National Auditorium in Mexico and at the José Amalfitani Stadium in 1994 during his Segundo Romance Tour. The album features live covers of José Alfredo Jiménez's songs, which were previously unreleased. The first two songs were released as singles, the former reaching number one on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart and the latter peaking at number three on the same chart.

<i>Cómplices</i> 2008 studio album by Luis Miguel

Cómplices (transl.Accomplices) is the 18th studio album by Mexican singer Luis Miguel, released on 2 May 2008 by Warner Music Latina. The record is a collaboration with Spanish musician Manuel Alejandro, who wrote and arranged the songs, and co-produced the album with Luis Miguel. Musically, it is a pop album of mostly ballads and a few uptempo tracks with lyrics emphasizing romance. Two singles were released to promote the album: "Si Tú Te Atreves" and "Te Desean". To further promote the record, Luis Miguel embarked on the year-long Cómplices Tour from September 2008 to September 2009. He performed in North America and a few countries in South America.

México En La Piel Tour was a concert tour performed by Luis Miguel in support of his studio albums México en la Piel and later Navidades during 2006–2007. On this tour, Luis Miguel performed his recent pop songs, his newest mariachi songs, and also his back-catalogue. Two press conferences were held to present the album México en la Piel – one in the National Art Museum (MUNAL) of Mexico City and another in Madrid. In late 2006, Luis Miguel presents his album Navidades in New York City.

It was the highest-grossing tour ever made by a Spanish-speaking artist, as well as the most extended. The tour consisted of 99 concerts, and was attended by approximately 1.5 million fans. These two records have been broken by another tour of the same artist, the Mexico En La Piel Tour.

The Mis Romances Tour was a concert tour performed by Luis Miguel during the year 2002 to promote his 2001 album Mis Romances. The tour consisted in 63 concerts and ran through US, Mexico, Argentina, Spain, Chile, Uruguay, Peru, Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico. In February he performed at the Universal Amphitheatre in Los Angeles, California for six consecutive sold-out nights drawing more than 32,000 spectators, beating his previous record of five consecutive concerts in this venue, he played also two more concerts in September. Miguel performed at Mexico's Aztec Stadium for first time in his career in front of 80,000 spectators, and also gave twelve nights at National Auditorium in Mexico City.

"Labios de Miel" was released as the album's lead single while "Mujer de Fuego" was launched to promote the special edition of the record. The Segundo Romance Tour was a concert tour performed by Luis Miguel during the last part of 1994 to promote his last album. He began the tour in Mexico before the official release of Segundo Romance, performing the new songs of the album on the 16 sold-out concerts at the National Auditorium in Mexico City.

The Deja Vu Tour, previously named as The Hits Tour during 2014, is a series of concerts performed by Mexican artist Luis Miguel to perform a brand new setlist consisting of his earliest hits as well as his most recent hits included in productions such as México En La Piel (2004) and Luis Miguel (2010). Even though, in 2014 the USA Tour advertising mentioned it as "Tour 2014" and the Sudamerican advertising as "The Show" these were not the tour official names. Along with the tour start date the single "Deja Vu" came out, it can be inferred that this is the reason why the tour was renamed as "Deja Vu".

The Aries Tour was launched by Luis Miguel to some United States and Latin American countries to promote his album Aries. It began on 6 May 1993, in Guadalajara and ended on 24 July 1994, in Costa Rica.
