The series follows the female idols and the producer and staff of 283 Production (283プロダクション, Tsubasa Purodakushon) and their activities as idols, including concerts, events, and stage productions. There are a total of 25 idols in 283 Pro as of the 3rd anniversary update, grouped into seven units. Each of these units comes with a unique gameplay trait, for example illumination STARS uses two stats for their appeal strength instead of just one.

Development and release

The browser game, which uses HTML5, was announced during a presentation in February 2018. [3] It launched on the browser game platform Enza on April 24, 2018, reaching over 800,000 pre-registrations ahead of its release. [4] A mobile game version was released on iOS and Android on March 13, 2019. [5]

A new mobile game for iOS and Android, titled The Idolmaster Shiny Colors: Song for Prism, [lower-alpha 2] was announced in April 2023. A demo version was released to testers from May 19–23. [6] The game was released on November 14, 2023. [7]

Radio show

The Idolmaster Shiny Colors: Habataki Radio Station, an Internet radio show featuring voice actors from the game, premiered on Bandai Namco's Asobi Store  [ ja ] service on June 14, 2018. [8] Bonus content, titled Habataki After Radio Station (originally Kyūkeishitsu), are released for premium members of the service. [8] [9]

Manga

A four-panel manga series by Gimmy began serialization on the game's website and Twitter account in February 2018. [10] It is published in print under the title The Idolmaster Shiny Colors: Shinymas Everyday!. [11]

A manga adaptation by Akira Shinozaki was serialized on Kadokawa Shoten's Comic Newtype website from July 23, 2019, [12] [13] to August 26, 2022. [14] It has been collected into five tankōbon volumes, published from March 2020 to December 2022. [15] [16]

A third manga series by Hiroki Ohara, titled The Idolmaster Shiny Colors: Coherent Light, began serialization on Comic Newtype on September 26, 2023, and focuses on the idol unit Straylight. [17]

The Idolmaster Shiny Colors: Jimuteki Shinography, a fourth series by Gūtarō Yorude that focuses on character Hazuki Nanakusa, began serialization on Shogakukan's Sunday Webry service on October 21, 2023. [18] [19]

Anime

An anime television series adaptation was announced on March 19, 2023. [20] It is produced by Polygon Pictures and directed by Mankyū  [ ja ], with Yoichi Kato  [ ja ] writing the scripts, and Takeshi Iwata serving as assistant director, as well as CG director along with Susumu Sugai. Ryōhei Fukushi is designing the characters for animation, and Yasuhiro Misawa  [ ja ] is composing the music. [21] [22] The 12-episode series was screened in Japan in three parts; the first on October 27, 2023; the second on November 24, 2023; and the third on January 5, 2024. [23] It later premiered on TV Tokyo on April 6, 2024. [lower-alpha 3] The opening theme song is titled "Tsubasa Gravity". [23] Crunchyroll licensed the series. [25]

A 12-episode second season was announced during "The Idolmaster Shiny Colors 6th Live Tour Come and Unite! Brilliant Bloom" concert on March 3, 2023. Like the first season, it will be screened in Japan as three films which will premiere on July 5, August 23, and September 20, 2024. It will later air on television in Q4 2024. [26]

The Idolmaster Shiny Festa is a series of three Japanese rhythm video games developed by Namco Bandai Studios and published by Namco Bandai Games. The games are part of The Idolmaster franchise, and were originally released on October 25, 2012 as Honey Sound, Funky Note, and Groovy Tune for the PlayStation Portable in Japan. They were the first games in the series to be localized into English, and were released for iOS on April 22, 2013 as Harmonic Score, Rhythmic Record, and Melodic Disc, while retaining their original names for the Japanese versions. Service for the iOS version was discontinued on March 15, 2016.

The Idolmaster is a Japanese media franchise that began in 2005 with a raising simulation and rhythm video game series created by Bandai Namco Entertainment. The series primarily centers on the career of a producer who works with a group of prospective pop idols at the talent agency 765 Production. Originally released as an arcade game, the franchise has grown to numerous ports, sequels and spin-offs across multiple video game consoles, including several social network games. The series includes a variety of other media such as an anime with the same name, printed media, audio dramas, a Korean drama, and radio shows.

The Idolmaster Movie: Beyond the Brilliant Future!, stylized as THE IDOLM@STER MOVIE: Beyond the Brilliant Future!, is a 2014 Japanese animated film based on The Idolmaster franchise and a sequel to The Idolmaster (2011). Produced by A-1 Pictures and distributed by Aniplex, the film is directed by Atsushi Nishigori from a script he wrote with Tatsuya Takahashi. The film follows Producer working with the idols of 765 Production for their first arena concert and inviting seven idols-in-training as their backup dancers.

<i>The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls</i> Mobile game by Cygames and Bandai Namco

The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls is a Japanese free-to-play simulation video game co-developed by Cygames and Bandai Namco Studios for the Mobage social network platform for mobile phones. It was first released on November 28, 2011, for feature phones, and compatibility was extended to iOS and Android devices on December 16, 2011. The game is based on The Idolmaster franchise, and features a cast of new idol characters. In September 2015, a music video game developed by Cygames titled The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls: Starlight Stage was released on the Google Play Store and Apple Store in Japan. The original game ended service on March 30, 2023, and was succeeded by its spinoff game and adaptations.

Hiyori Kono is a Japanese voice actress, singer and idol. She was previously affiliated with the agency With Line, but is currently represented by First Wind Production. She is also member of idol girlgroup, "teaRLove" which are formed by Marine Entertainment. The group are consists member from the voice actresses.

Shugo Nakamura is a Japanese voice actor and singer affiliated with Across Entertainment and Lantis. He is best known for voicing Teru Tendo in The Idolmaster SideM, Issei Kuga in TsukiPro, and Tomoki Takashima in Young Disease Outburst Boy.

The Idolmaster Million Live is a Japanese multimedia spin-off series of The Idolmaster, starting with the game of the same name. The series follows a new group of idols working alongside the idols of 765 Production with a producer at the 765 Live Theater.

<i>The Idolmaster SideM</i> 2017 multimedia male idol series by Bandai Namco

The Idolmaster SideM is a Japanese multimedia spin-off series of The Idolmaster, starting with a 2014 game and expanding to include music CDs, two anime series, a web radio show, printed manga, and a rhythm game. The series focuses on the male idols of 315 Production, in contrast with the normally female idol centric series.

Karin Isobe is a Japanese actress, voice actress, and singer from Nara Prefecture. She is currently affiliated with Amuse Inc.

Yū Wakui is a Japanese voice actress affiliated with Mitt Management talent agency. She studied ballet from a young age, which helped create an interest in theatre and performance. During high school, she began the theatrical studies that led her to become a voice actor.

Akiho Suzumoto is a Japanese voice actress who is affiliated with the VIMS talent agency. She is known for her roles as Natsuha Arisugawa in The Idolmaster Shiny Colors, Aika Natsukawa in The Dreaming Boy Is a Realist, and Serina Sumi in Blue Archive.

Runa Narumi is a Japanese former voice actress and singer from Onomichi, Hiroshima Prefecture. Until her retirement on New Year's Eve 2021, she was part of her agency Stardust Promotion's voice actor unit SoundOrion and voiced Yuika Mitsumine in The Idolmaster Shiny Colors.

Mizuki Yuina is a Japanese voice actress and singer affiliated with VIMS. She is known for voicing Karin Tono in Chronicles of the Going Home Club, Kiriko Yukoku in The Idolmaster Shiny Colors, and Shizuku Utsumi in Extreme Hearts.

Noriko Shibasaki is a Japanese voice actress and singer from Tokyo, affiliated with Mausu Promotion. She is known for voicing Chisato Chikaishi in Tsugumomo, Chiyuki Kuwayama in The Idolmaster Shiny Colors, and Mary in The Witch and the Beast.

Hitomi Sekine is a Japanese voice actress and singer from Tokyo, affiliated with I'm Enterprise. She is known for voicing Mano Sakuragi in The Idolmaster Shiny Colors, Ryoko Sukuno in Shinobi no Ittoki, Ellis Seifort in Berserk of Gluttony, Koyuzu Koganei in Otaku Elf, and Celina in Goodbye, Dragon Life.

Anna Yamaki is a Japanese voice actress and singer from Tottori Prefecture, affiliated with Remax. She is known for starring as Sakuya Shirase in The Idolmaster Shiny Colors, Yukio Igarashi in Rifle Is Beautiful, and Ritapon in Loopers.
