Reception

The album received generally negative reviews.

Idolator said: "Who wouldn’t want to be serenaded by The Hoff at Christmas? No? [1]

In 2013, New York Post ranked the album as number 1 worst celebrity Christmas album, saying the album spread "Christmas fear instead of cheer". [2]

In 2015 CBC Music listed the album as one of the 15 worst Christmas albums of all time. [3]

In 2015, Clint Davis from NBC listed the album as one of the 8 most bizarre Christmas albums. [4]

In 2016, Matthew Dunn from news.com.au said "nothing says scraping the bottom of the barrel quite like David Hasselhoff’s The Night Before Christmas" in an explanation of why he dislikes Christmas. [5]
