The Perfect Melody is an album by Puerto Rican singer Zion. It is his debut solo studio album. Production of the album was handled by several musical producers including Akon, Nely el Arma Secreta, Tainy, and others. Guest appearances include Akon, Eddie Dee, Tony Tun-Tun, De La Ghetto and Jowell & Randy, among others. [1] After temporarily separating from the duo Zion & Lennox, Zion began recording material for his debut solo album in October 2006.

Contents

"The Way She Moves" featuring Akon was selected as the lead single from the album. [2] The song was released to radio stations on June 12, 2007 and released as a digital download on April 9, 2008. [3] "Zun Da Da" served as the second single and was released to radio stations on July 20, 2007 and released as a digital download on April 9, 2008, as well. [4] The Perfect Melody received a nomination for a Lo Nuestro Award for Urban Album of the Year. [5]

Background

Zion first became known in the duo Zion & Lennox. [2] As a duo, they released one studio album, Motivando a la Yal (2004) and appeared on various compilation albums before then such as Luny Tunes ' Mas Flow (2003). Motivando a la Yal peaked at number thirty-two and number thirteen on the Billboard Latin Albums and Billboard Latin Pop Albums, respectively. [6] The special edition re-release performed better, reaching number ten on the Billboard Latin Albums chart. [6] The album was well received by critics, with Evan Gutierrez of Allmusic calling it a "landmark album" and "one of the albums that artists will refer to in years to come as one of the records that shaped reggaeton and its future". [7] Zion began working on The Perfect Melody in October 2006. [2] Originally, the album was to be a compilation album of various artist, though after "bad experiences with new talent", Zion decided to work the project alone. [2]

14F is the fourth compilation album and eight overall of reggaeton singer-songwriter and producer Wise, who wrote all tracks and sang in two of them, this time accompanied by DJ Luian, who produced the entire album, with some work by Alex Killer, Little Genius, Yazid, Predikador, Noize, Santana, Young Hollywood, Muekka, Mambo Kingz, Hi-Flow and Los Metálicoz. The album was released on July 14, 2014 through Wise's Gold Pen Records and VIP Music Records, and his title refers to February the 14th: Valentine's Day, so the entire production is about romantic themes. It features Farruko, Arcángel, Zion & Lennox, De La Ghetto, Ñengo Flow, Jory, Maluma, Ken-Y, Baby Rasta & Gringo, J Álvarez, Cosculluela, Randy, Pusho, Luigi 21 Plus, Yomo, Gotay, Genio and Alexa, who performs in his respective songs. The album was scheduled to be released on March 14, 2015, but was postponed for unknown reasons. On its first day, it reached the top position on sales in the Latin ranking of iTunes, above other albums including Formula, Vol. 2 by Romeo Santos, The Last Don 2 by Don Omar, and Dale by Pitbull. Rafy Mercenario is a Puerto Rican reggaeton producer. He has produced hits for several artists including Daddy Yankee, Don Omar and Ivy Queen. He has released compilation albums, including a collaboration with fellow producer DJ Nelson, The Kings of the Remix (2006), which debuted at number fourteen on the Billboard Latin Rhythm Albums chart.

Felix Gerardo Ortiz Torres and Gabriel Pizarro, known by their stage name Zion & Lennox, are Puerto Rican reggaeton singers, rappers and songwriters. Both artists were born in Carolina, Puerto Rico, were the duo was originated in 2000. They were part of the reggaeton underground scene until 2004, year in which they released their first studio album, Motivando a la Yal, under White Lion Records. The production's success was later influenced by Daddy Yankee's Barrio Fino, which led reggaeton to mainstream audiences. Also the track "Ahora" featuring Angel Doze was included into the video game FIFA Football 2005 soundtrack.
